Emirates Group Unveils Ebdaa, a Cutting-Edge Aviation Innovation Hub

The Emirates Group introduced Ebdaa, a state-of-the-art aviation innovation hub located in the former Emirates Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. The inauguration ceremony was led by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman & Chief Executive Emirates Airline & Group, alongside H.E. Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and distinguished guests from various entities, including Dubai Future Foundation, General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Dubai Police, General Civil Aviation Authority, Department of Economy and Tourism Dubai, and flydubai, among others.

Expressing his thoughts on the occasion, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum emphasized the rapid transformation of the aviation ecosystem driven by technology and innovation. He highlighted Ebdaa’s role in harnessing the latest technologies, research and development, customer feedback, and collaborative partnerships to design unparalleled experiences for customers and employees. The hub aims to solidify Dubai’s position as a hub for commercial aviation.

Ebdaa, spanning over 35,520 square feet across three levels, focuses on Robotics, AI, and Web 3.0 technologies. Some key features include:

  1. Region’s First XR Theatre: A 55-seater XR theatre with LED-powered stage, XR capabilities, camera tracking, and real-time 3D renders to immerse global audiences in simulated environments.
  2. Aviation Robotics Lab: A space for the design, development, and experimentation of social and industrial robots, featuring the first in-house developed AI-powered customer support robot.
  3. VR Chamber: Dedicated to trialling and showcasing immersive experiences on MIRA, the Group’s extended reality platform, using the latest wearables.
  4. AI-powered Executive Boardroom: A purpose-built hybrid meeting space equipped with AI technologies for global collaboration.
  5. The IX Studio: A circular, multifunctional room with advanced video, audio, and presentation tech for co-designing new products and immersive experiences.
  6. Innovation Heritage, Insights Wall: Guests can explore the Emirates Group’s decade-wise milestones, projects, and achievements centered on innovation.
  7. Partnership Showcase Area:Dedicated to showcasing the Group’s strategic partnerships across aviation and technology.

Additionally, Ebdaa features a robotics café, an interactive zone on the airport of the future and innovation challenges, and a smart collaboration room for brainstorming and co-creation.
