Jo Malone London Brings Fragrance to Afternoon Tea at Atlantis The Royal

This October, afternoon tea at Atlantis The Royal takes on a deeper meaning. The Royal Tearoom by Christophe Devoille has joined forces with Jo Malone London for “Blooming with Purpose,” a fragrance-led tea service created in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Beginning October 2, 2026, the experience pairs pastry artistry with a quiet but resonant message: the importance of awareness, regular screening and early detection, and support for those affected by the disease.

The partnership carries real heritage. Jo Malone London is part of The Estée Lauder Companies, which has championed breast cancer awareness around the world for more than three decades through its Breast Cancer Campaign. Atlantis The Royal now lends its own craft and creativity to that commitment.

The concept is as sensory as it is purposeful. Pastry chef Christophe Devoille has translated the house’s signature fragrance palette into a menu that unfolds like a perfumer’s collection, drawing on Peony and Blush Suede, English Pear and Freesia, Lime Basil and Mandarin, Wood Sage and Sea Salt, Myrrh and Tonka, Velvet Rose and Oud, and Oud and Bergamot. Aromatic moments are woven through the service, and each guest departs with a complimentary Jo Malone London gift.

The savory course opens with smoked sturgeon, set against crisp pink lady apple, finger lime and a sparkling wild idol jelly. A tomato parfait follows, layered with stracciatella, pine nut praline and basil blossom. Grilled artichoke arrives with 24-month aged parmesan, hazelnut and crisp sage, while spiced roast duck is paired with foie gras mousse and a rosemary and lavender honey. Beetroot-cured Norwegian salmon, brightened with pickled fennel, horseradish crème and lime, rounds out the selection.

The sweets continue the olfactory journey with remarkable precision. Peach meets damask rose, rhubarb is layered with coconut and ambrette seed, raspberry is softened by vanilla and bergamot, and fig is joined by tonka and hazelnut flower. Rendered in vivid shades of red and pink, each creation is as striking as it is delicious, and unmistakably made for the camera.

The sense of purpose extends beyond the table. Guests receive a Jo Malone scented surprise and a special keepsake, along with a note inviting them to explore The Estée Lauder Companies’ ongoing breast cancer awareness work online. A handcrafted chocolate from Chef Devoille offers a final, graceful flourish.

The setting adds to the occasion. Located in the lobby of Atlantis The Royal, a member of the World’s 50 Best Hotels, The Royal Tearoom provides a grand and theatrical backdrop for one of the city’s most coveted afternoon teas. Under Devoille’s creative direction, inventive sweet and savory compositions arrive with the precision and showmanship for which the tearoom has become known.

“Blooming with Purpose” runs daily from October 2 through October 31, from 2 to 5 p.m. The experience is priced at AED 580 for two.
