Candlenut located inside Four Seasons Hotel Singapore will be offering a specially crafted Peranakan Afternoon Tea at One-Ninety Bar, available all weekends of April and May 2021.

Candlenut Chef-Owner Malcolm Lee presents a sophisticated menu of Straits-Chinese dishes elevated with astute twists while preserving the essence and complexities of the traditional cuisine.  Relish an assortment of dainty sweets including kaya and butter toast; kueh salat; kueh bingkah; buah keluak tart; Chinese-style butter cookies; and lemongrass cake that evokes nostalgia alongside savoury treats such as kueh pie tee; otah toast; pang susi; and the exquisite roti jala, a lacy coconut crépe paired with Chef Lee’s Mum’s signature chicken curry.  The afternoon tea set also includes baked vanilla and pandan scones that are accompanied by homemade pineapple-gula melaka jam; strawberry-rose preserve; and Devonshire clotted cream.

Complete the afternoon with the Candlenut signature tea blend – an exquisite blend of oolong and butterfly pea flower with fragrant notes of jasmine and pandan, a fine selection of specialty Gryphon teas or choose to have craft Lavazza coffee freshly brewed at the table.

For cocktails, there will be three locally-inspired cocktails will be available such as Kopi-O, Pandan Kueh, and Kampong Fizz.

Kopi-O is a blend of local coffee-infused Mancino vermouth, 12-year Auchentoshan Scotch whisky and house cherry liqueur.  The drink has the taste of coffee, chocolate, spices and hints of vanilla.  Made with clarified milk punch and Altos tequila, the Pandan Kueh is a combination of pandan and coconut, infused with nuances of lychee and chamomile.  Inspired by the native butterfly pea plat, Kampong Fizz is a unique floral and citrusy gin-based cocktail for bubbly lovers.

Available on the weekends of April and May 2021, the Peranakan Afternoon Tea will be served at One-Ninety Bar from 2:00 to 5:00 pm.
