Four Nights Only: Handshake Speakeasy Rewrites NYC’s Cocktail Code

This September, Manhattan’s cocktail scene hits a new high as MAD Bar & Lounge at the NH Collection New York Madison Avenue welcomes an exclusive four-night residency by Handshake Speakeasy, the Mexico City bar recently named No. 1 on both The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024 and North America’s 50 Best Bars for two consecutive years.

From September 3 to 6, 2025, the refined lounge will transform into a temple of liquid alchemy as the Handshake team brings its acclaimed, science-driven cocktail philosophy to New York. Known for pushing the limits of flavor and technique, Handshake’s bartenders have earned international acclaim for their futuristic, meticulously crafted drinks, each the result of up to 48 hours of preparation in a dedicated lab at their Mexico City outpost within NH Collection Mexico City Reforma.

For this limited engagement, guests will be invited to experience a curated cocktail menu that marries avant-garde techniques with striking, conceptual presentation. While the final list remains under wraps, each creation promises to reflect the kinetic spirit of New York, interpreted through the lens of molecular mixology and culinary precision.

Seating for the Handshake Speakeasy pop-up will be extremely limited, with first access given to hotel guests. Reservations will be available via Resy beginning August 3, 2025.
