After a sensational debut in late May, Les Amours de Carmen Wong is back for two encore performances at The Peninsula Hong Kong – complete with fine-dining flair at two of the city’s most celebrated culinary institutions. Presented in partnership with the French May Arts Festival, this operatic reimagining of Bizet’s classic Carmen fuses East and West, transporting the story of the headstrong femme fatale to 1960s–70s Hong Kong.

Performed by a stellar cast including tenor Chen Yong, mezzo-soprano Ashley Chui, soprano Etta Fung, and baritone Isaac Droscha, the production returns for two exclusive evenings in July and September 2025.

The first performance, set for Monday 21 July 2025, will unfold at Gaddi’s, The Peninsula’s iconic Michelin-starred French restaurant. Alongside the operatic drama, diners can expect a decadent four-course menu by Chef de Cuisine Anne-Sophie Nicolas. Highlights include Traditional Beef Tartare with Baerii Caviar and Quail Eggs, and mains like Wild Sea Bass with Beluga Caviar and Bouillabaisse Sauce or Miéral Pigeon with Girolle Mushrooms and Green Peas à la Française. Fine wine pairings curated by Chef Sommelier Marc Le Gallic elevate the evening to true indulgence.

On Saturday 20 September 2025, the spotlight shifts to Felix, the hotel’s avant-garde, top-floor restaurant with interiors by French design maestro Philippe Starck and glittering harbour views. Chef de Cuisine Aurélie Altemaire has crafted a luxurious four-course menu to match the mood, featuring French Duck Foie Gras Terrine with Strawberries and Basil, Ricotta-Spinach Ravioli topped with French Baerii Caviar, and a show-stopping Felix Opera dessert – a layered delight of Coffee Cream, Chocolate Ganache and Cardamom Ice Cream.

Reservations & Details

Each performance experience is priced at HK$4,800 per person (plus 10% service charge) and reservations are essential. Guests booking both evenings enjoy a 10% discount.
