This spring, The Peninsula New York introduces a seasonally inspired Afternoon Tea at Gotham Lounge, celebrating the timeless botanical works of Vincent van Gogh. Developed in collaboration with the New York Botanical Garden (NYBG), the Van Gogh Floral Afternoon Tea draws creative direction from the artist’s renowned floral motifs and complements the Garden’s upcoming exhibition, Van Gogh’s Flowers.

From May 6 through June 28, 2025, Gotham Lounge will embrace an atmosphere inspired by Van Gogh’s expressive style and love of nature. The space will be adorned with floral arrangements reflective of the artist’s vibrant palette, setting the stage for an elegant Afternoon Tea experience. The menu, designed by the hotel’s culinary and pastry teams, highlights both sweet and savory creations with a botanical theme.

Among the confections are freshly baked scones paired with a whimsical chocolate paintbrush and flower-inspired treats such as a chocolate and honey sunflower, a vanilla and custard cherry blossom, and a lavender sponge with blueberry and almond. Savory offerings include “Potted Plants” made with truffle dip, porcini soil, and lemon, alongside a sunflower seed foie gras served on brioche and a Maine lobster roll. Each tea service includes a curated selection of floral teas and a glass of Peninsula Private Label Champagne.

The collaboration reflects The Peninsula’s ongoing dedication to art, culture, and refined hospitality, and highlights its tradition of crafting memorable experiences.
