On the 40th floor of Element Kuala Lumpur, TRACE Restaurant & Bar, a high-floor restaurant with large floor-to-ceiling windows offering breathtaking views of the Kuala Lumpur skyline, is gearing up to launch a new dining experience in February. The upcoming attraction is a 10-Course Chef’s Tasting Menu named A Skyscraping Rendezvous, designed to encapsulate a picturesque dining adventure.

Crafted by the skilled culinary team, led by Executive Chef Taib Ridhwan and Senior Sous Chef Hasrul Hawari, the gastronomic journey unfolds over approximately 90 minutes. The intention is to provide guests with a leisurely pace to savor each dish, promising a laid-back and enjoyable weekend afternoon filled with culinary delights.

The tasting menu blends elements from Western, Malay, and Chinese cuisines to cater to the discerning Malaysian palate. The experience kicks off with a vibrant Niçoise Salad in a Jar, where the service team shakes and mixes the jar before presenting it, adding a touch of theatrics to the beginning.

The culinary adventure continues with a variety of seafood starters, including a delicately crafted Prawn Cocktail and the Salmon Mosaic in Thai-style garlic chili oil, ensuring a tantalizing experience. The classic baked half-shell seafood dish, Creamy Spinach Scallop Rockefeller, is served in an elegant bamboo basket, with smoke puffing out as the lid is lifted, creating a show-stopping moment to conclude the first leg of the experience.

Following these savory delights, a palate-cleansing Orange Sorbet and silky smooth Cauliflower Velouté set the stage for the main courses. Guests can indulge in the fusion specialty of local Malaysian flavors in the Grilled Beef Tenderloin, known as “Daging Harimau Menangis” among the chefs. This dish features medium-cooked, crispy-edged, and tender cuts of meat, paired with a homemade chili and coriander Siamese dip.

The culinary journey continues with the Smoked Chicken Roulade, created by Executive Chinese Chef Linus Mak with a Szechuan twist, infusing tangy and refreshing flavors. Finally, a miniature bowl of Soba Noodles delivers a satisfying conclusion to the savory section.

Save room for the grand finale, a decadent Almond Peach Tart complemented by Strawberry Mousse, Berries Coulis, and Cinnamon Gelato. Priced at RM238 nett for 2 persons, A Skyscraping Rendezvous: 10-Course Chef’s Tasting Menu is available from 12:30 pm to 3 pm every Saturday, Sunday, and Public Holiday. Advance reservation for a minimum of 2 persons and at least 1 day prior is required.
