On the 14th of August in 2023, an exclusive event awaits those who appreciate fine dining and music at The Peninsula Hong Kong. An exceptional evening is being extended to enthusiasts, granting them the chance to revel in the company of the highly acclaimed Asian Youth Orchestra (AYO). Their presence will grace the sleek, modern dining establishment known as Felix, housed within the hotel.

The evening’s proceedings will commence with a 45-minute recital performed by the AYO within Felix. This auditory treat will set the stage for what follows: a lavish five-course set dinner meticulously curated by Felix’s skilled Chef de Cuisine, Aurélie Altemaire.

Stepping onto the stage at 7:00 pm, the musical performance will be under the baton of the French-Swiss Principal Conductor, Joseph Bastian. Joining him in this artistic endeavor is the German-born Soprano, Lydia Teuscher, renowned for her appearances on esteemed global stages. Teuscher has collaborated with eminent conductors such as René Jacobs, Jonathan Cohen, Emmanuelle Haïm, Sir Roger Norrington, Helmuth Rilling, and Markus Stenz.

A varied and melodious program awaits the audience, featuring pieces like Arne Running’s vibrant medley “Quodlibet,” Zequinha de Abreu’s spirited “Tico-Tico no Fubá,” Villa-Lobos’ evocative “Bachianas Brasileiras No.5,” Steve Reich’s rhythmic masterpiece “Clapping Music,” Ennio Morricone’s haunting “Gabriel’s Oboe,” and Hoagy Carmichael’s timeless classic “Stardust.”

As the recital concludes, the culinary team at Felix will orchestrate a symphony for the taste buds, a “five-act” feast designed to captivate the senses. Notable highlights from the menu include a Boston lobster salad accompanied by heirloom tomatoes and ajo blanco, Australian winter black truffles paired with Hokkaido scallop bread, sea urchin, and cauliflower, poached Japanese flounder with miso eggplant and coriander sauce, grilled A4 Kagoshima tenderloin complemented by girolles, apricot, and thyme-infused gravy, and finally, a poached peach adorned with strawberry coulis and vanilla ice cream. To enhance this culinary experience, guests may select between a glass of Champagne Bollinger Special Cuvée Brut, NV, or Saicho jasmine sparkling cold-brewed tea.
