In Bali, there’s a saying: “Clothes make the man, but they also make the plate.” This adage finds resonance in the culinary realm at Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana, where a new gastronomic adventure is unfolding. Dubbed ‘Balinese Kitchen Culture’, this workshop delves into the intricacies of Balinese kitchen traditions, as interpreted by the seasoned Balinese chefs of Tanah Gajah.

Scheduled to kick off this month, ‘Balinese Kitchen Culture’ invites participants to immerse themselves in the rituals and beliefs that permeate Balinese culinary practices. Beyond mastering dishes like Balinese Sate Lilit, Sambal Matah, and Dadar Gulung, attendees will explore the significance of proper attire and presentation, alongside purification rituals such as blessings with holy water to cleanse away negativity.

Crafting the customary canang saiban, an offering prepared post-cooking, is a pivotal component of the two-hour workshop. Through interactive sessions and dialogue, guests gain insight into the profound role these offerings play in Balinese spirituality, fostering gratitude and devotion in daily life.

Available daily in two time slots—10am to 12pm or 1pm to 3pm—the workshop welcomes families and children aged 8 and above. Prices start at IDR 485,000++ per person, with a minimum requirement of 2 participants.
