The Peninsula New York is partnering with St. Moritz and Badrutt’s Palace Hotel to launch Chalet de Ning, an immersive Swiss-inspired rooftop experience that brings the acclaimed winter glitz and spirit of St. Moritz, Switzerland, to New York City’s Fifth Avenue. Open now until Dec. 31, 2022, the pop-up emulates an evening at Paradiso, Badrutt’s Palace Hotel’s 10th and newest restaurant and mountain club that is leading the standard of luxurious après ski, 6,000 feet up in the Swiss Alps.

“St. Moritz is an Alpine resort in a class of its own, a special place for special people,” says Marijana Jakic, brand manager of St. Moritz. “We are delighted to partner with two iconic luxury hotels to bring our distinguished small-town character, personality and luxury experiences to New York City as we welcome a highly anticipated return to international winter sports season in Switzerland.”

The glamorous winter wonderland comprises two mountainside-chalet-inspired domes, furnished with stylish interiors, plus a freestanding chimenea on the west-side terrace of The Peninsula New York’s iconic rooftop bar, Salon de Ning. Adapted to the season, the décor for the rooftop lounge is reflective of an impeccably chic ski lodge in St. Moritz, with vintage posters and ski equipment, Swiss Alp essentials such as snow shoes and iconic cow bells, snow-topped trees and luxurious furs set against the twinkling backdrop of Manhattan’s skyline. The centerpiece of Chalet de Ning is a lighted St. Moritz sun, symbolizing the destination’s 322+ days of sunshine per year.

Two specialty cocktails include the St. Moritzino with Grey Goose, Cointreau, Orgeat Syrup and Fresh Lime, and the Winter Spirtz with Aperol, White Wine, Apple Juice and Crème de Pêche.
