Chinese fitness sensation Will Liu, also known as Liu Geng Hong (刘畊宏), is set to bring fitness enthusiasts together for a free-to-public workout at the Event Plaza on October 7, 2023, as part of Sands Wellness Extravaganza – Golden Week Edition. Following the fitness event, Liu will collaborate with his close friend, artist Wu Chun (吴尊), and the Chinese music group Nan Quan Mama (南拳妈妈) for a night of entertainment filled with interactive activities at Sands Grand Ballroom.
Open to participants of all fitness levels, the fitness event will be led by Liu and his workout partner and spouse, Vivi Wang Wanfei (王婉霏), featuring a 45-minute heart-pumping workout on the Event Plaza. The session will incorporate elements of dance and cardio exercises, delivering a high-octane fitness experience.
Liu, a multi-talented professional known for his roles as a singer, dancer, and actor, gained fame through his album “Rainbow Heaven” (2005) and his appearances alongside the “King of Mandopop” Jay Chou in blockbuster movies like “Initial D” (2005) and “Kung Fu Dunk” (2008). Beyond showbiz, Liu became an online sensation during the pandemic lockdown, earning the title of the new face of fitness due to the virality of his livestream workout videos, which broke Douyin’s livestreaming records in 2022. His social media following increased by nearly tenfold in less than a month, amassing over 70 million followers across his platforms and solidifying his status as one of China’s most beloved fitness influencers.
In addition to the fitness event, Liu will take the stage at Sands Grand Ballroom for a concert alongside the mandopop group Nan Quan Mama, promising a night filled with show-stopping performances. Artist Wu Chun will also make a special appearance on-stage to share his fitness journey and engage in interactive activities with the audience. Expect an evening of nostalgic mandopop hits and exceptional musical talent, with opportunities for fans to join their favorite artists in a brief dance workout on stage.
Veteran Chinese actor and singer Wu Chun has enjoyed a successful career in showbiz, earning recognition for his roles in popular drama series like “Romantic Princess” (2007) and “Hot Shot” (2008). Wu has also made a mark in the film industry with appearances in “Lady of the Dynasty” (2015) and “Nest” (2018). As a husband and father of two children, Wu Chun strives to be a positive role model by championing good family values.
Since the release of their debut album, “Nan Quan Mama’s Summer” (2004), the music group Nan Quan Mama has risen to fame, winning awards for Best Mandarin Song and Best Mandarin Group at the Metro Radio Hits Music Awards in 2005, and receiving a nomination for Best Singing Group at the prestigious 19th Golden Melody Awards in 2008. The group has released seven albums to date, delivering popular hits such as “Disappear” (2005), “Rainy Day” (2008), and “Mudan River” (2008).
Sands Wellness Extravaganza – Fitness Dance
To reserve a spot in Will Liu’s outdoor workout session, individuals must pre-register online through Marina Bay Sands’ website. Registration will commence on September 27. Given the limited availability of spots for this event, registration will operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Upon completion of an online registration form, participants will receive a confirmation email to confirm their successful registration.
The event welcomes participants of all ages and fitness levels. Individuals aged 16 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Given the physically demanding nature of the event, participants are encouraged to engage at an intensity level suitable for their fitness level and are responsible for monitoring their physical condition both before, during, and after the event.
