On November 21, 2024, The Hari Hong Kong presents the fourth edition of The Hari Chronicles, a signature event series exploring Hong Kong’s artistic and cultural landscape. This special edition invites attendees to uncover the story of Hong Kong through the iconic designs of Henry Steiner, the renowned Austrian graphic designer behind Hong Kong’s most recognizable visuals, including the HSBC logo. The evening will feature collector and designer John Wu, alongside authors Christopher DeWolf and Billy Potts, whose book, Henry Steiner’s Hong Kong, explores the designer’s lasting impact on the city’s aesthetic identity. Guests will enjoy a drinks reception at 6 pm, with the conversation starting at 6:30 pm in The Lounge. John Wu will also showcase rare vintage pieces by Steiner, giving attendees a unique, tangible link to Hong Kong’s visual history. RSVP by November 7, 2024, to [email protected]. The prize offers a significant HK$100,000 cash award, generously donated by Dr. Aron Harilela, to the winning artist, with a public exhibition of selected works to be held at The Hari Hong Kong on March 13, 2025. Submissions close on December 16, 2024, and all applicants must be Hong Kong-based artists within the first ten years of their careers. Find out more and apply at The Hari Art Prize.
