Art Basel Paris is celebrating its fifth edition under new Director Karim Crippa, and this year’s fair places the city of Paris at the center of its artistic and cultural identity. The 2026 edition brings together 211 leading international galleries, including 64 exhibitors that operate spaces within France, reflecting the depth of the Parisian gallery scene while extending the fair’s reach into the city’s museums, institutions, public spaces, and creative communities.

Premise, the section dedicated to research led presentations that revisit and expand established art historical narratives, has moved into the Salon Seine this year, giving it greater space and visibility within the fair.

Beyond the Grand Palais, Art Basel Paris extends throughout the French capital through an expanded Public Program. Avenue Winston Churchill Sculpture Walk
Connecting the Petit Palais and the Grand Palais, Avenue Winston Churchill hosts large scale public sculptures exploring transformation, memory, urban life, cultural identity, and the relationship between monumentality and fragility. Featured works include:
- Alicja Kwade’s “L’Élévation des Mondes” (2026), presented by Mennour, composed of stone spheres from different regions of the world
- Carmen Herrera’s “Angulo Amarillo” (2017), presented by Lisson, an aluminum and acrylic sculpture in a yellow chevron form
- Keita Miyazaki’s “A Symbiotic Form” (2025), presented by Rosenfeld, built from recycled car parts and waterproof Japanese paper
- Manfred Pernice’s “bank group” (2026), presented by Anton Kern and Neu, four concrete benches doubling as sculpture
- Marcello Maloberti’s “CIEL” (2026), presented by Raffaella Cortese, a neon installation suspended around 20 meters above the avenue

Cosima von Bonin at the Petit Palais
Cologne based artist Cosima von Bonin presents “The Dollys & The Beaux” (2026) at the Petit Palais, presented by Petzel (New York), Gaga (Mexico), and Neu (Berlin). The installation brings von Bonin’s signature plush sea creatures and canines, including a St. Bernard, a pair of scallops, a bulldog, an octopus, a whale, and hermit crabs, into dialogue with the Petit Palais’s history as the Musée des Beaux Arts de la Ville de Paris. Staged as a mise en scène, the sculptures are newly adorned with tartan textiles, silk scarves, and other theatrical accessories, extending a dialogue with fashion and performance. This is the third Public Program project Art Basel Paris has realized at the Petit Palais, and the installation runs from October 20 to 25.
Oh La La! 2026: Myths and Legends Theme
Oh La La!, the fair’s two day rehang event, returns this year with galleries transforming their booths with new works on the Friday and Saturday of the fair. The 2026 edition is art directed by French actress Philippine Leroy Beaulieu around the theme Myths and Legends.
Exhibitors are invited to explore foundational narratives, personal mythologies, metamorphosis and transformation, dreams and the unconscious, animals and nature, rituals and beliefs, imaginary landscapes, constellations and the cosmos, ancestral memory, contemporary fables, and archetypes such as the hero, the guide, the guardian, and the double.
Artists featured in the rehang include Nina Childress, Ossip Zadkine, Portia Zvavahera, and Philippe Mayaux Butterfly.
Conversations Program Moves to the Grand Palais Auditorium
For the first time, the Conversations program takes place in the Auditorium of the Grand Palais, bringing together artists, museum directors, curators, collectors, and cultural figures for discussions and one on one encounters throughout the fair.
