The city of Kingston rolled out the red carpet to host the hometown Jamaica premiere of “Bob Marley: One Love” at the Carib 5 Theatre on January 23, 2024. Fae Ellington took on the role of the event’s host, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The premiere saw a star-studded attendance, including the film’s notable cast members such as Kingsley Ben-Adir, James Norton, Aston Barrett Jr., Anna-Sharé Blake, Gawaine “J-Summa” Campbell, Naomi Cowan, Alexx “A-Game” Gallimore, Quan-Dajai Henriques, David Kerr, Hector Roots Lewis, Abijah “Naki Wailer” Livingston, Brian Todd Boucher, Cornelius Grant, Sheldon Shepherd, Wilfred Chambers (aka Ricky Chaplin), Nia Ashi, and Sundra Oakley. The event was also graced by the presence of the film’s Director Reinaldo Marcus Green, Producers Robert Teitel, Jeremy Kleiner, Ziggy Marley, and Rita Marley, along with Executive Producer Orly Marley.

Among the distinguished guests were Paramount Pictures President & CEO Brian Robbins and his wife Tracy Robbins, as well as Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The Most Honorable Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica, added to the gathering of prominent figures.

The cinematic tribute “BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE” pays homage to the life and musical legacy of the iconic Bob Marley, whose messages of love and unity resonated across generations. Making its debut on the grand screen, the film unveils the powerful story of Bob’s resilience in the face of adversity and delves into the transformative journey behind his groundbreaking music. Scheduled for release on February 14, 2024, the film stars Kingsley Ben-Adir embodying the legendary musician and Lashana Lynch portraying his wife Rita. Paramount Pictures presents this collaborative production by Plan B Entertainment, State Street Pictures, and Tuff Gong Pictures. Executive producers include Brad Pitt, Richard Hewitt, Orly Marley, and Matt Solodky. The film, with a story by Terence Winter & Frank E. Flowers and a screenplay by Terence Winter & Frank E. Flowers, along with Zach Baylin & Reinaldo Marcus Green, is directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green. The ensemble cast features a host of talented actors, promising an intimate exploration of Bob Marley’s life and his enduring impact on music and culture.
