In a recent development, Spice Garden, the distinguished Vietnamese restaurant situated within Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, has undergone a revitalization and is now back in operation. Having been a prominent establishment in the heart of Hanoi since 1901, Hotel Metropole Hanoi has consistently served as a luxurious venue for prestigious events and a favored meeting place for business and leisure travelers, including playwrights, ambassadors, and heads of state. This legendary landmark, renowned for its exemplary service, has garnered numerous international awards, contributing significantly to the local heritage.

The hotel boasts 364 rooms distributed between two wings—the historical Metropole Wing and the neo-classical Opera Wing. Additionally, it features three legendary suites named after notable residents and visitors: Graham Greene, Charlie Chaplin, and Somerset Maugham.

Le Beaulieu boasts the finest French cuisine in the region, Spice Garden presents elevated Vietnamese dishes with a contemporary twist, angelina is a bespoke bar-lounge-restaurant, La Terrasse brings Parisian flair to Hanoi’s streets, Le Club Bar offers renowned afternoon high tea and cool jazz performances, and Bamboo Bar takes poolside lounging to new heights.

Spice Garden, celebrated for its traditional Vietnamese favorites and modern interpretations of fine Vietnamese cuisine, recently reopened with a fresh approach. Departing from the previous buffet style, the restaurant now emphasizes à la minute preparation, ensuring freshly made-to-order dishes. George Koumendakos, the General Manager of Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, expressed excitement about offering a redefined take on Vietnamese culinary tradition with a French touch, making Spice Garden a new “must-try” dining experience in Vietnam’s capital.

The restaurant’s menu features authentic dishes served individually or family-style, representing the diverse culinary landscape of Vietnam. Utilizing the freshest seasonal ingredients from top suppliers, along with sustainable and organic produce and subtle spices, Spice Garden promises an upscale dining experience.

Highlighted dishes on the new menu include Deep-Fried Rice Paper Spring Rolls, Crispy Stuffed Pigeon, and Tiger Prawns with Salted Egg. The beverage selection includes Lotus Flower Tea and the Herbs cocktail.

The restaurant’s interior has undergone a refresh to create a more intimate space with abundant natural light, locally produced linens, handcrafted pottery, and new cutlery, dishes, and glassware. The service approach has been elevated, incorporating modern plating techniques.
