In exactly one year’s time, the world’s attention would be fixed on the opening ceremony of the much-anticipated Olympic Games Paris 2024. OMEGA, the event’s Official Timekeeper, was gearing up to celebrate the occasion with the launch of a remarkable timepiece, the Seamaster Diver 300M “Paris 2024” Special Edition, infused with a touch of elegance.
Crafted as an exclusive tribute to the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, this edition would be OMEGA’s 31st time serving as the Official Timekeeper, a role they had held since 1932.
The brand-new 42 mm timepiece, fashioned from stainless steel and OMEGA’s distinctive 18K Moonshine™ Gold, would initially be available exclusively at OMEGA Boutiques in the host city, Paris. The choice of gold, a quintessential symbol of victory and achievement at the Olympics, had been incorporated into the watch’s design, particularly in the bezel, which featured a laser-structured diving scale in positive relief and a single dot of Super-LumiNova at 12 o’clock.
The dial, laser-engraved and produced in white ceramic, presented an eye-catching look with polished waves in positive relief. The date display at 6 o’clock creatively used the Paris 2024 typography to inscribe the numbers in black, while the central seconds hand proudly carried the Paris 2024 emblem.
Beyond aesthetics, the watch boasted distinctive details, most notably a commemorative caseback adorned with an inlayed 18K Moonshine™ Gold medallion, showcasing the Paris 2024 emblem against a laser-ablated background. Completing this stunning emblem were the words “Paris 2024” and the iconic Olympic Rings, artfully rendered in stainless steel with a polished, frosted structure.
The timepiece also offered flexibility and personalization options. Adorning the wrist with a stainless steel bracelet, the watch featured OMEGA’s innovative patented Quick Change System, enabling wearers to effortlessly switch to a Quick Change rubber strap available in blue, white, or red – or even a dedicated Paris 2024 NATO Strap.
In keeping with OMEGA’s commitment to excellence, the Seamaster Diver 300M embodied the highest standards of precision and performance. The Co-Axial Master Chronometer 8800, along with the entire watch, had undergone rigorous testing and certification by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS), ensuring unparalleled quality.
