OMEGA Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite Captures the Essence of the Cosmos

Since its debut in 1969 during the Apollo 11 Moon landing, the OMEGA Speedmaster has been synonymous with space exploration. Now, the iconic collection takes its celestial heritage to new heights with the Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite—a timepiece that brings the mysteries of the cosmos to your wrist.

At 43 mm, this series offers two stainless steel models, each featuring dials crafted from iron meteorite. This extraordinary material, sourced from ancient space rocks, creates intricate, ribbon-like patterns that make each watch entirely unique. Adding to their distinctiveness, the meteorite dials are treated with either a sleek black PVD or a refined galvanic grey coating.

The highlight of these watches is the Moonphase display at 6 o’clock, featuring two miniature Moons made from authentic Moon meteorite. These cabochons rotate to depict lunar phases as seen from the northern and southern hemispheres. Behind them, the starry backdrop is no ordinary decoration—it mirrors the exact night sky from the moment Apollo 11 landed on the Moon, as viewed from OMEGA’s headquarters in Switzerland.

Functionality is equally impressive. The 3 o’clock subdial houses a dual 60-minute and 12-hour recorder, while the Small Seconds subdial at 9 o’clock integrates a date display with a striking red aluminum hand. These features are driven by the advanced manual-winding Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9914. Designed for precision, this movement resists magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss and is certified by METAS, ensuring peak performance.

Each model is carefully detailed:
The black PVD version features a meteorite dial paired with 18K white gold hands and markers, and a black ceramic bezel marked by a white enamel tachymeter scale.
The galvanic grey option offers a meteorite dial over a blue PVD-coated base, accented by blue ceramic bezels, with blue PVD-coated gold hour markers and hands.

Both models are fitted with OMEGA’s signature polished and brushed bracelet, equipped with a comfort release adjustment system for a perfect fit. The Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite isn’t just a watch—it’s a wearable tribute to human ingenuity and the eternal allure of the Moon.
