Visitors are invited to step into a world where flowers take center stage and every corner feels transportive. The 78th Annual International Orchid Show returns March 20 through 22 at the Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara, California, offering a lush escape from the everyday. This year’s theme, Orchid Escape, sets the tone for three immersive days surrounded by some of the most extraordinary blooms in the world.

With nearly eight decades of history, the Santa Barbara International Orchid Show has become a beloved destination for beauty seekers and plant enthusiasts alike. “The Orchid Show has such a legacy because of the absolute joy and beauty it brings to attendees; it’s like stepping into a floral wonderland of rare blooms,” says Lauris Rose, President of the Santa Barbara International Orchid Show. “There is nothing like being surrounded by award worthy displays and enjoying the artistry of growers from all over the world, all in one place.”

The event brings together an international lineup of growers and exhibitors who transform the showgrounds into a tropical inspired oasis filled with cascading orchids in every imaginable hue. Guests are treated to a visual feast as vendors and exhibitors compete for coveted honors including Best Orchid in Show, Grand Champion Cymbidium, and other prestigious awards recognizing the most exceptional flowers on display.

Whether arriving as a seasoned orchid collector, an aspiring photographer, a creative seeking inspiration, or simply someone looking to be amazed, attendees will find no shortage of reasons to linger. Visitors can admire striking orchid displays from across the globe without ever leaving California, take in dramatic floral arrangements and artistic installations, and explore photography inspired by the natural elegance of orchids.

Education is woven throughout the experience, with opportunities for guests at every skill level to deepen their knowledge through hands on sessions, grower demonstrations, lectures, and curated VIP tours focused on orchid care and cultivation. The show also features a carefully selected group of premier vendors offering orchids, growing supplies, and rare botanical finds that are difficult to source elsewhere.

Beyond the blooms, the show fosters a sense of community, bringing together growers, exhibitors, hobbyists, and enthusiasts from around the world. Special ticketed experiences elevate the weekend further, including Orchid Sound Bath and Yoga, a four course Orchid Dinner, and the evening event Orchids After Dark, making the show as much about atmosphere as it is about flowers.

The 78th Annual International Orchid Show takes place March 20 through 22 at the Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara, California. Tickets are available online at sborchidshow.com, with limited availability at the box office during the event. General admission is $25, three day passes are $35, and children 12 and under are admitted free with an adult. Group tickets and multi day passes may be reserved through the website.

For those seeking beauty, inspiration, and a brief escape into a botanical dreamscape, there is truly something for everyone.
