Commencing in April 2021, this ambitious endeavor involved the acquisition, transportation, assembly, and finalization of the Boeing 747, culminating in May 2023. Measuring a length of 231 feet 10 inches and a wingspan of 195 feet 8 inches, the Boeing 747 was once celebrated as the largest civilian aircraft worldwide in the late 1960s. Today, it assumes a novel role as the world’s pioneer Coach outlet situated within a Boeing 747 aircraft.

Datuk Julian Lau, the Director of Freeport A’Famosa Outlet, shared that the project had been underway for the past two years and required immense effort from the team to transform the mega Boeing 747 Jumbo into an exclusive and unparalleled retail destination in collaboration with Coach. He added that since the opening of Freeport A’Famosa, their aim has always been to create innovative experiences for visitors. This latest addition, he said, adds to their offerings by providing Malaysians and tourists with a fun and immersive shopping experience, allowing them to explore the cockpit, passenger and lounge cabins while browsing Coach’s collections.

The Boeing 747, affectionately known as “The Queen of the Sky,” has now taken on the role of “The Queen of Retail,” combining aviation history with shopping. The spacious layout of the plane creates a comfortable and memorable shopping environment reminiscent of the golden age of air travel, where luxury and elegance were paramount.

Customers can explore the interior of the plane and its retail cabins, where they will find a curated selection of ready-to-wear clothing, bags, and travel accessories inspired by the expressive approach to fashion of the next generation.

Coach will also introduce an exclusive Coach Airways Collection, featuring items such as t-shirts, a passport leather case, a wheeled carry-on luggage, a field tote, as well as travel accessories like luggage tags, pouches, and small wallets. These items will be printed with a limited-edition reimagination of the house’s iconic Signature.
