Beginning June 15, U.S. tourists can visit Portugal, here are the entry requirements

Beginning June 15, non-essential travel from the United States to Portugal is permitted for travelers with proof of a negative COVID-19 test.  

Except for children 24 months old and under, every passenger must submit a negative SARSCoV-2 lab result of a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT), for example a PCR test, performed in the last 72 hours or a rapid antigen test (TRAg), performed within 24 hours of boarding. 

All airline passengers to the United States, including U.S. citizens, ages two years and older must provide a negative COVID-19 viral test taken within three calendar days of travel. Alternatively, travelers to the U.S. may provide documentation from a licensed health care provider of having recovered from COVID-19 in the 90 days preceding travel.

All authorized travelers arriving from the United States, except for children of 24 months old and under, must submit a negative SARSCoV-2 lab result of a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT), for example a PCR test,  performed in the last 72 hours or a negative rapid antigen test (TRAg) performed within 24 hours of boarding. 

Travelers holding a residency permit or possessing a residency visa issued by the Portuguese authorities, or legal residents of an EU country or family members of an EU citizen, are also allowed to enter or transit Portugal for non-essential travel. Essential travel as determined by Portuguese authorities is currently permitted such as for professional proposes, study, family reunification, medical, or humanitarian travel.  

Some non-essential travel (tourist travel) from European Union, from Schengen-associated countries (Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland), and from the U.K. is also allowed.  Land borders between Portugal and Spain are open (with testing restrictions).

Passengers arriving to Portugal without a negative COVID-19 test results are subject to refusal of entry and/or mandatory testing at the cost of the passenger as well as quarantine until the results of the test.

Quarantine Information

All persons arriving to Madeira, to include U.S. citizens, are subject to one of the following: present a negative COVID-19 test in the last 72 hours, submit to a test upon arrival and isolate until the results are received, self-isolate for a 14-day period, or return to their point of departure.
