5 Reasons Anime Fans Need to Visit Harbour City Hong Kong Before May 2026

Harbour City has joined forces with Bandai Namco Asia for the first time to stage one of Hong Kong’s most ambitious anime events this spring. Running from March 27 through May 5, 2026, the sprawling celebration takes over multiple zones across the waterfront mall, bringing five legendary franchises — Mobile Suit Gundam, ONE PIECE, Tamagotchi, ULTRAMAN, and Dragon Ball — to life in immersive, photo-ready installations that stretch from the forecourt all the way to LCX on Level 3.

What to See

Ocean Terminal Forecourt: Gundam Exploration Bay

The centerpiece of the entire event lives outside at the Ocean Terminal Forecourt, where a five-meter-tall RX-78-2 Gundam strikes a dramatic launch pose atop a 16-meter spaceship-themed installation. The model has never appeared in this particular dynamic pose before, and it already has the makings of one of the city’s great photo moments. Inside the installation, more than a hundred Gundam series toys trace the evolution of the franchise across generations. A dedicated section spotlights the premium PERFECT GRADE UNLEASHED series, while a Gundam Hangar zone displays roughly 20 figures from the Gundam Universe series. Fans of classic Bandai titles will also find curated merchandise from Digimon and Kamen Rider in the mix. Open 10am to 10pm.

Ocean Terminal Deck: ONE PIECE Adventure Lane

The outdoor deck overlooking Victoria Harbour becomes a full-on ONE PIECE fantasy. A six-meter-tall pirate ship inspired by Going Merry anchors the zone, accompanied by an Egghead Arc (Future Island) installation and a Gear 5 Luffy photo spot that captures the rubber man at his most gloriously unhinged. A brand new ONE PIECE collaboration series makes its Hong Kong debut here, alongside merchandise themed around the Egghead Arc and classic character lines. Open 10am to 10pm.

Ocean Terminal Ground Floor Atrium: Tamagotchi Research Hub

Designed around the concept of a research hub, the Tamagotchi zone features life-size standing figures of Meowtchi, Irukatchi, and Horhotchi — the three main characters from the Tamagotchi Paradise mobile game — making their first-ever Hong Kong appearance. A glowing feature wall divided into four themed worlds (Pink Land, Blue Water, Purple Sky, and Jade Forest) creates an eye-catching backdrop that pulls visitors straight into the Tamagotchi Paradise universe. Players of the game can connect with an onsite device to unlock exclusive in-game items. A QR code mini-quiz is also on offer: answer every question correctly and complete the registration process to redeem a Research Hub Staff Badge Sticker at LCX Oasis 3 on Level 3. Open 10am to 10pm.

LCX, Level 3: ULTRAMAN Base of Light

LCX celebrates two milestones at once: the 60th anniversary of ULTRAMAN and the 30th anniversary of ULTRAMAN TIGA. The zone walks visitors through the franchise’s entire arc, from Showa-era classics to the newest generation hero Ultraman Omega, with figures and selected merchandise representing each era. A dedicated photo spot inside LCX recreates the iconic battle between ULTRAMAN and the monster Golza. Visitors who complete an ULTRAMAN themed mini-quiz via QR code can redeem an exclusive postcard at the LCX Customer Service Counter while supplies last.

For those willing to spend a little more: shoppers who spend HK$200 or above on any Ultraman products at the Bandai Namco Asia Pop-Up Store can redeem a ticket to the ULTRAMAN Character Meet-and-Greet. Five Ultra Heroes, including Ultraman Zero, Ultraman Omega, Ultraman Z, and Ultraman Tiga, make surprise appearances across three daily sessions (1:30pm, 3:30pm, and 5:30pm) at the LCX Main Entrance on select weekends and holidays through May 3. Open 10am to 10pm.

Ocean Terminal Main Concourse: Dragon Ball Awakening Platform

A life-size Super Saiyan Son Goku statue greets visitors at the entrance to the pop-up store, frozen mid-Kamehameha and radiating the kind of dramatic energy that Dragon Ball has always done best. Curated displays surround the statue, and the zone connects directly into the main retail area so fans can move seamlessly between photo opportunities and shopping. Open 11am to 9pm.

Level 3 Corridor near Ocean Terminal Deck: Bandai Namco Asia All-Star Showcase

Located near shop OTE303 (MULAN), this corridor-spanning showcase brings together the full Bandai Namco Asia brand family. Visitors can browse displays from TAMASHII NATIONS, BANDAI HOBBY (the home of GUNPLA), BANDAI CANDY TOY, BANDAI ART TOY, BANPRESTO, PREMIUM BANDAI, and the Gundam lifestyle apparel line STRICT-G. Open 10am to 10pm.

Stamp Rallies and Collectibles

Two separate stamp rally activities run throughout the event. To participate, visitors need to follow the official Harbour City and Bandai Namco Asia social media accounts, which unlocks both a Mobile Suit Gundam collectible postcard and a Bandai Namco Asia Brand Stamp Card.

The RX-78-2 Gundam Stamp Rally Mission sends participants to five designated stamp stations around the venue to collect differently colored stamps. Gathering all five reveals a full-color illustration of RX-78-2 Gundam posed against a Hong Kong backdrop, a genuinely collectible keepsake.

The Bandai Namco Asia Brand Stamp Collection Mission asks visitors to collect all five brand logo stamps from the themed zones. Complete the card and head to the designated redemption counter to claim a blind bag Bandai Namco Asia Journey Series Metal Badge.

Shopping

The Bandai Namco Asia Pop-Up Store at the Ocean Terminal Main Concourse is the retail hub of the entire event. Model kits, lifestyle goods, event exclusives, and first-release items from across the franchise lineup fill the space, and more than 60 gashapon machines on the same floor make for an irresistible detour. Visitors who scan the QR code at the store exit and complete a short survey can pick up an A5 file folder as a bonus gift, while supplies last. Spending thresholds during the event period unlock additional complimentary gifts.

Bandai Namco Asia Journey in Hong Kong @ Harbour City runs March 27 through May 5, 2026, at Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong.
