Christmas hit the Las Vegas Strip with full glitter and swing as Mariah Carey launched her holiday takeover, Mariah Carey’s Christmastime in Las Vegas, at Dolby Live at Park MGM. The so-called Queen of Christmas ushered in the season with two radiant shows on Nov. 28 and 29, filling the room with nostalgia, warmth and the unmistakable shimmer that has become her holiday calling card.
Carey remains one of the most formidable forces in pop history. She has sold more than 200 million albums, earned 19 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles—18 written by her—and continues to hold records unmatched by any solo artist. Her memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, premiered at the top of the New York Times Best Seller list, adding author to a résumé already stacked with two Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominations, a Songwriters Hall of Fame induction, five Grammy wins, ten American Music Awards and an armful of global honors recognizing her impact on songwriting and popular music.

On opening weekend, the best-selling female artist of all time swept fans into a holiday dreamscape with a setlist anchored by her perennial juggernaut, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” The night mixed showpiece arrangements, lavish visuals and her unmistakable vocal firepower, including the Las Vegas debut of her original track “Fall in Love at Christmas.” She folded in a medley of career-defining hits and offered glimpses of her latest work, performing “Play This Song,” “In Your Feelings,” and “Jesus I Do” from Here For It All, the album that extended her 35-year streak of landing new releases in the Billboard 200’s top ten. Wrapped in sparkling costumes and framed by a stage design dripping with winter fantasy, Carey turned Dolby Live into her own holiday universe.
With the curtain now down on opening weekend, the celebration is far from over. Additional shows run December 2, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 12 and 13 at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at ticketmaster.com/MariahVegas.
