John Mayer is heading back to the Sphere, and Las Vegas had better brace itself. Three more nights have been added to his Live at Sphere residency, set for Wednesday, June 9, Friday, June 11, and Saturday, June 12, after the first run sold with the kind of speed that tends to make promoters nervous and fans frantic. General sales open Friday, October 16, at 10 AM on Ticketmaster.com, with tickets starting at $129.
Anyone hoping to beat the rush has a few ways in. Artist presale tickets, powered by Seated, go live Wednesday, October 14, at 10 AM PT through johnmayer.com, and fans who registered earlier can use their previously issued codes for the new dates. SiriusXM listeners get their own head start on Thursday, October 15, with details coming through Mayer’s own channel, Life with John Mayer. A limited run of VIP packages also hits Ticketmaster.com on Wednesday, October 14, at 10 AM PT, with premium seats, exclusive merchandise, and a date-specific lithograph signed by Mayer himself.
What those fans will see is a night split into three distinct pieces. Mayer opens alone, leaning on his acoustic guitar and stepping over to piano and electric guitar along the way. Then comes the full band, followed by the John Mayer Trio, reuniting Mayer with drummer Steve Jordan and bassist Pino Palladino, a rhythm section with a long memory for the blues. All of it unfolds inside the world’s highest-resolution LED display, which curves up, over, and around the crowd, backed by Sphere Immersive Sound, the venue’s concert-grade audio system built to deliver precision to every seat.
Some of the money will go to good causes. Tickets for each show will also be auctioned through charityauctionstoday.com, with every dollar of those proceeds going to the Heart and Armor Foundation, the veterans’ health organization Mayer started in 2012. One dollar from every ticket sold goes to his Back To You Fund, which has backed programs for at-risk youth and the homeless.
Those who want the full Vegas experience can book through Vibee, the official concert and hotel package partner. Every package includes a concert ticket, a two-night stay at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, the only resort connected to Sphere, and a collectible laminate and lanyard. Vibee VIP holders get priority entry, upgraded seating options, and an exclusive gift kit. Packages for the new dates are available now at johnmayer.vibee.com.
The residency is a natural fit for a guitarist who has already conquered the room. The Bridgeport, Connecticut, native announced himself in 2001 with the quintuple-platinum Room for Squares, then notched three No. 1 debuts on the Billboard 200 with Heavier Things, Battle Studies, and Born and Raised. He has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, won seven Grammys, including Song of the Year for “Daughters,” and holds a record seven No. 1 albums on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart, along with 25 entries on the Hot Rock Songs chart, the most for any solo artist.
Since 2015, he has also served as lead guitarist and vocalist for Dead & Company, whose 48-show Sphere residency drew nearly half a million people. The band has played to almost five million fans across 300 shows and 10 U.S. tours, and has raised more than $15 million for nonprofit, environmental, and social causes. Mayer’s eighth studio album, Sob Rock, arrived in 2021 with the hits “Last Train Home” and “Wild Blue” and has since gone gold. In November 2023, he launched Life with John Mayer, a 24/7, year-round SiriusXM channel that he curates and hosts himself.
