A reversible souvenir jacket born from the collaboration between GDC and Tailor Toyo from Toyo Enterprise is set to arrive as a statement piece rooted in Japanese craft and street level prestige. Launching on Saturday January 24 2026 the jacket will be available at the GDC Daikanyama flagship store and through the GDC online store.

For this project the two brands look to the legendary Alaska jacket a silhouette revered in the vintage market for its rarity and expressive embroidery. Reimagined through a modern lens the result is a meticulously constructed reversible jacket that honors classic sukajan aesthetics while pushing them into contemporary territory. From fabric choice to stitching techniques the design faithfully channels vintage references with an uncompromising level of detail.

On the primary side the jacket leans into elegance and visual power. The left chest features GDC’s signature eight pointed star known as the STA motif while the katakana lettering for GDC is rendered with the refined touch synonymous with Tailor Toyo. A dynamic dragon embroidery occupies the right chest and the pocket area is accented with a vivid Mount Fuji motif bringing bold color and symbolism into the composition. The back is anchored by a phoenix with finely detailed feathers stitched with precision creating a sense of movement and mythic beauty that immediately commands attention.

Flip the jacket inside out and the mood shifts to something more relaxed and playful. Drawing from the classic Alaska jacket language the reverse side reinterprets lightning and animal imagery through newly designed bear and hawk graphics. The back is finished with an airy ALASKA wordmark that adds breathing room to the design and enhances the warm nostalgic feel. It is a side that feels lived in casual and effortlessly cool while still carrying the weight of heritage.

This collaboration stands as a luxury level take on a cultural icon blending Japanese embroidery tradition with the attitude of modern street fashion. It is a piece designed to be worn and remembered equally at home in a curated wardrobe or out on the street where details matter most.
