Nutella Café Returns to Chicago with a Fresh New Look and Expanded Menu

Something sweet has returned to downtown Chicago. The Nutella Café, run by Ferrero, has reopened its doors at 189 N. Michigan Avenue on Chicago’s famous Magnificent Mile, bringing with it a brand new look, a bigger menu and, for the first time ever, the option to order ahead for pickup.

There is truly nothing else like it. As the only Nutella Café of its kind in the world, this Chicago landmark draws dessert seekers from across the globe. Ferrero has spent months reworking the space from top to bottom, updating the design while keeping the crepes, waffles and chocolate hazelnut treats that first won over Chicago diners and tourists.

Every detail of the new interior nods to the brand itself. The ordering counter mirrors the curved shape of a Nutella jar, a bronze mesh ceiling swirls overhead like the spread it’s named after, and the walls carry a rich, textured finish inspired by the same chocolate hazelnut color. The layout now separates the space into clear sections for ordering, dining and shopping, so guests can move through more easily, and several backdrops throughout the café are built specifically for photos, giving visitors plenty of reasons to snap a picture for social media.

Sweets fans will find a longer list of options on the new menu. Fresh additions include:

Nutella Tiramisu Cups
Nutella Mocha Frappes
Nutella Milkshakes
Nutella Ice Cream Cones
Nutella Peanut Spread, which can now be added to any classic order
New gelato flavors made in partnership with Vero Gelato

Longtime favorites remain too, including the build your own Nutella jars that have become something of a Chicago tradition for locals and out of towners alike. Shoppers can also pick up new branded merchandise such as Nutella tumblers, key chains and small totes, ideal as gifts or keepsakes from the trip.

Looking ahead, the café plans to roll out online ordering for pickup along with a digital waitlist system, so guests get an alert the moment their table opens up. Whether someone is grabbing a quick treat during a busy day downtown or planning a special outing around it, these upgrades are designed to make visiting Chicago’s one and only Nutella Café simpler and more enjoyable than ever.
