Seongnam City Showcases Innovative SMEs at CES 2025

Seongnam City, under the leadership of Mayor Shin Sang-jin, successfully unveiled its largest-ever delegation at CES 2025, the world’s premier consumer electronics and IT exhibition, held January 7–10 in Las Vegas. Representing 41 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the Seongnam Pavilion highlighted the city’s commitment to empowering businesses to scale into global markets.

Seongnam Pavilion Opening Ceremony

The Seongnam Pavilion’s opening ceremony took place on January 7 at 1:30 PM (local time) in the Global Pavilion at the Venetian Expo. While Mayor Shin Sang-jin was unable to attend due to pressing economic matters, the event was led by Lee Eui-Jun, President of the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency, alongside Fred Jung, Mayor of Fullerton, California, home to the Seongnam Business Center (K-SBC). The event attracted major buyers and key industry stakeholders.

President Lee Eui-Jun emphasized, “Seongnam City’s participation at CES 2025 represents a milestone effort to support the global ambitions of our SMEs. The Seongnam Pavilion provides an invaluable platform for businesses aiming to enter international markets. We remain dedicated to fostering innovation and enhancing global competitiveness.”

Technological Innovations from Seongnam-Based Companies

The Seongnam Pavilion showcased advanced technologies from 25 SMEs, spanning key sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), healthcare, smart cities, and mobility. Three companies earned prestigious CES Innovation Awards, underscoring Seongnam’s reputation as a leader in technological innovation.

  • Sky Labs Inc. was recognized for CART VITAL (Project ‘Apollon’), a multi-vital sign monitoring device tracking oxygen saturation, heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and more. This tool is ideal for home and care facilities.
  • BrainU Co., Ltd. received an award for VET CAI, an EEG-based device designed to monitor the depth of anesthesia in animals.
  • ANDOPEN Co., Ltd. was honored for SNAPPASS, an advanced facial recognition solution for two-step authentication.

Seongnam City’s Support for SMEs and Startups

Seongnam City provided comprehensive support to its participating companies, ensuring their success at CES 2025 and beyond. Assistance included:

  • Covering CES Innovation Award application fees.
  • Providing booth rental and setup support.
  • Subsidizing airfare and shipping expenses.
  • Offering on-site interpretation and promotional assistance.

This strategic backing demonstrates Seongnam’s commitment to reducing barriers for SMEs and startups entering the global market.
