The newly opened JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa in Seogwipo, Jeju, is situated on a cliffside with panoramic views of the island’s volcanic coastlines. The resort has been designed to provide guests with a serene and mindful experience, offering experiences that rejuvenate the body and spirit while celebrating the natural beauty of the surroundings. The resort’s location is directly connected to Route 7 of the Olle Trail, a famous walking path that stretches for approximately 17.7 kilometers along the coastline, offering stunning views of the ocean and nearby Beomseom island. Jeju Island is home to several UNESCO World Heritage sites, including Hallasan Mountain Natural Reserve, Geomunoreum Lava Tube System, Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone, and the Getbol Tidal Flats. The island is easily accessible, with a one-hour flight from Seoul, and the resort is just an hour’s drive from Jeju International Airport.

The renowned luxury hotel designer Bill Bensley is behind the impressive design of the JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa. Bensley drew inspiration from Jeju’s natural beauty and farming and fishing traditions, bringing to life the philosophy of the JW Marriott brand. The resort’s landscaping is a seamless blend of nature and architecture, featuring low lava stone walls, cabbage fields, and mustard flowers that bloom in springtime in a sea of yellow – a lucky color in Korea. Bensley incorporated gray, black, and white tones to represent Jeju’s volcanic landscapes, which contrast with the abundant use of yellow throughout the resort. The exquisite hardwood furniture complements the color palettes, providing the perfect backdrop for guests to enjoy the resort’s luxury service and amenities.

The JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa offers a total of 197 guest rooms, including 28 suites, all adorned in natural wood and warm tones. The standard Deluxe Rooms, which cover an area of 45 square meters, come with separate powder rooms, while the Suites are an expansive 92 square meters in size. Certain rooms boast large marble bathtubs for two, providing guests with a relaxing retreat while soaking up the stunning panoramas.

The JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa offers five carefully curated culinary experiences designed to inspire and rejuvenate guests. From traditional black pork barbecue to indulgent daily brunches, guests will find a tempting selection of dining options at the resort. Island Kitchen is an all-day dining restaurant that overlooks the ocean and showcases ingredients from Jeju and beyond, including yellowtail tuna, Jeju black pork, and locally produced vegetables. The restaurant’s signature brunch, which features a diverse buffet and dishes served directly to the table, is available daily from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM to cater to guests’ preferred schedules. Guests can start brunch with unlimited champagne, and premium caviar is served upon seating, complemented with coffees developed in collaboration with local roasteries.

The Flying Hog, the hotel’s signature BBQ and rotisserie restaurant, features a wood-fired oven in which Jeju black pork and beef are slow-roasted to perfection. For guests looking to explore Jeju’s local dishes, Yeoumul is a Jeju-style omakase restaurant that features seasonal ingredients and fresh seafood harvested by the island’s local female divers, known as Haenyeo. The Lounge, with its resident coffee master, offers specialty coffees and a high tea set with special savory menu items featuring locally produced lemons, carrots, and green barley from Gapado, and peanuts from Udo. The Lounge’s outdoor terrace, “Romantic Sunset,” provides a relaxing space where guests can enjoy cocktails while taking in breathtaking sunset views over the ocean. At the hotel’s poolside, Bar Botan is the perfect spot to sit back, relax with a local beer, and sample signature menu items such as Lobster Tartine and Jeju Octopus & Caviar Tartine.

JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa provides guests with a range of activities that encourage them to be present and rejuvenate their minds, bodies, and spirits by exploring the rich culture and natural beauty of Jeju Island. The resort offers various options such as Light Morning Walks, Morning Yoga, Pilates, Meditation Yoga, and Sound Healing sessions that take place in scenic and peaceful locations. The resort also provides unique activities such as Jeju Tea Ceremonies, Traditional Wine Tastings, and Wine Art Classes, that give guests a chance to experience the local culture.

The Spa by JW, the resort’s signature spa, is built on the principles of mindfulness and is equipped with sauna facilities and four indoor and outdoor swimming pools that are fed by the volcanic springs of the island.

The JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa offers the ‘Family by JW’ program to provide guests traveling with children with a range of activities for families to enjoy together. The resort has numerous family-friendly facilities, such as a kids’ club, playground, and swimming pool. Young guests can participate in activities such as Jeju Forest Adventurers, which allows them to safely explore the nearby forests, while the Natural Photo Box activity provides an opportunity to compile photos of their favorite memories of Jeju. Families can also rent a Picnic Rental Service to explore the natural beauty of the island. For children who enjoy cooking, the resort offers a Children’s Cooking Class where they can learn to create dishes using fresh produce harvested from the resort’s own JW Garden.

Throughout the resort, guests can find Serene Spaces that provide relaxation and moments of pause to restore calm and focus to the mind and body. The Choga, a traditional Jeju-style house, is set in a beautiful garden and provides guests with a fascinating glimpse into the indigenous culture of the island.
