A Feast for the Senses: La Sen’s Street Food Market-Style Buffet is Back

Street Food Night at La Sen restaurant is once again hosted by Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai every Saturday, to immerse guests in the rich culinary vibrancy of Central Vietnam. After a nearly three-year hiatus, the beloved market-style buffet returns, featuring more than fifty Vietnamese specialties cooked freshly in front of diners. La Sen restaurant transforms into a traditional Vietnamese market every Saturday, with local delicacies arrayed on wooden push carts and finger foods served in bamboo baskets dangling from shoulder poles, a staple among street hawkers. Visitors can browse the offerings and explore the sights, sounds, and aromas they would typically encounter on the lively streets of Hoi An.

According to Executive Chef John Oh, the street foods of Vietnam offer visitors a tantalizing window into local culture and heritage. Food cart vendors and hawkers are a way of life in Vietnam, with residents often grabbing breakfast and lunch on the go. “At Street Food Night,” he says, “guests can experience the multisensory delights of a typical Vietnamese street food market while still enjoying the care and comfort of our seaside retreat.”

Live performances by Vietnamese musicians and dancers add to the fantastic ambiance of the event. In between culinary explorations, visitors can witness the graceful movements of fan dancers dressed in iconic Áo Dài dresses and listen to classic melodies played on traditional instruments like the Đàn Bầu, Đàn Tranh, and Sáo.

The dishes served at Street Food Night at La Sen restaurant are crafted exclusively with ingredients sourced from Central Vietnam. The Resort’s own Herb and Vegetable Farm provides a variety of organic produce, while fresh-caught seafood is procured from Nha Trang and Ha Long Bay.

Each bite is an adventure, with surprising flavors and cultural crossovers in every dish. Guests can enjoy Grilled Oysters, Banana Blossom Salad, and Stuffed Rice Flour Pancakes with Vietnamese Lobster, among other highlights like Whole Roasted Pig with Hoi An Herbs, Seabass in Banana Leaf, and Five Spiced Beef.

Street Food Night’s menu strongly focuses on seasonality, with subtle variations throughout the year. For example, diners may find either white or pink pomelo in their salad, depending on the season.

At Street Food Night, guests can enjoy the most authentic local recipes and cooking techniques from Central Vietnam. Nearly the entire team of La Sen restaurant hails from Hoi An and neighboring areas, ensuring a truly authentic experience.

Chef Tran Trang crafts delicate mini savory pancakes with prawn and quail egg known as Bánh Khọt, while Chef Nguyen Quoc from the imperial city of Hue prepares steaming bowls of Bún Bò Huế, a Hue-style noodle soup. Chef Nguyen Yen is an expert in Vietnamese dumplings and Bò Lá Lốt, a grilled beef dish wrapped in mustard leaf on skewers.

Pastry Chef Pham Ly leads the dessert selection, which brims with the sweetest delights of the region. The Vietnamese Che Station serves traditional sweet puddings infused with local flavors like red bean, lotus seed, tapioca balls, and cubed sweet potato served in creamy coconut milk.

Street Food Night at La Sen restaurant is available every Saturday from 6:30 to 10:30 pm, starting March 4, 2023, for only VND 2.4 million per person, inclusive of 10 percent VAT and 5 percent service charges.

Khách hàng có thể tìm hiểu những sản phẩm đặc trưng này và khám phá những hình ảnh, âm thanh và mùi hương mà họ thường gặp trên đường phố đông đúc của Hội An.

Đêm Ẩm thực đường phố tại nhà hàng La Sen sẽ diễn ra vào mỗi thứ Bảy từ 6:30 đến 10:30 tối, bắt đầu từ ngày 4 tháng 3 năm 2023, với giá 2,4 triệu đồng mỗi người, đã bao gồm 10% thuế giá trị gia tăng và 5% phí dịch vụ.
