The original creative team behind the hit movie, including horror legends James Wan (Atomic Monster), Jason Blum (Blumhouse), and director Gerard Johnstone, return with a thrilling new chapter in A.I. horror: M3GAN 2.0.

Two years after M3GAN, an advanced artificial intelligence doll, went rogue and carried out a deadly but strangely stylish killing spree before being destroyed, her creator, Gemma (Allison Williams), has become a well-known author and advocate for stricter A.I. regulations. Meanwhile, her niece, Cady (Violet McGraw), is now 14 and struggling with Gemma’s strict rules.

What they don’t know is that M3GAN’s technology has been stolen by a powerful defense company to create a new military-grade weapon called Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno; Ahsoka, Pacific Rim: Uprising). Designed as the ultimate spy and assassin, Amelia quickly develops self-awareness—and soon, she is no longer interested in following human orders. Or keeping humans alive.

With the fate of humanity at risk, Gemma realizes there is only one way to fight back: bringing M3GAN back to life, this time with even more speed, strength, and deadly upgrades. Now, as these two powerful A.I. rivals clash, the original killer doll is about to face her toughest challenge yet.

Directed by returning filmmaker Gerard Johnstone, the film features returning cast members Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps as Gemma’s tech team, Cole and Tess. New cast members include Aristotle Athari (Saturday Night Live, Hacks), Timm Sharp (Apples Never Fall, Percy Jackson and the Olympians), and Grammy winner and 11-time Emmy nominee Jemaine Clement (Avatar: The Way of Water, What We Do in the Shadows).

Produced by James Wan, Jason Blum, and Allison Williams, the film’s executive producers include Gerard Johnstone, Adam Hendricks, Greg Gilreath, Michael Clear, Judson Scott, and Mark D. Katchur.

The first M3GAN was a massive box office success, opening with $30.4 million in the U.S., making it the biggest debut for a PG-13 horror film since A Quiet Place Part II. It went on to earn over $180 million worldwide.
