Mapbox, a global leader in location technology, and Hyundai AutoEver, a software affiliate of Hyundai Motor Group, unveiled their cutting-edge in-car technologies at CES 2025. The collaboration highlighted AI-driven 3D navigation and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) powered by Mapbox 3D Live Navigation and MapGPT, integrated into Hyundai Mobis’ state-of-the-art cockpit domain controller.

Next-Generation 3D Navigation Technology
Mapbox 3D Live Navigation introduced an enhanced driving experience with lane-level 3D guidance, augmented reality (AR) overlays, and real-time ADAS alerts. Features such as collision warnings and lane departure notifications were seamlessly integrated with Hyundai AutoEver’s software-defined vehicle platform and Hyundai Mobis’ AR-enabled cockpit controller, providing drivers with an intuitive and safer navigation solution.

AI-Powered Location Assistance with MapGPT
MapGPT, Mapbox’s intelligent location assistant, brought AI capabilities to the driving experience. It enabled natural, voice-activated commands for dynamic routing, live traffic updates, hyper-local search, and in-car system control, including music, climate, and reservations. For electric vehicles (EVs), MapGPT offered specialized features, such as real-time range monitoring and intelligent EV charging station recommendations, enhancing convenience and efficiency for EV owners.

Dongkwon Suh, Head of the Navigation Business Division at Hyundai AutoEver, stated, “Our partnership with Mapbox is a significant step forward in delivering smarter, safer, and more engaging in-car experiences.
