Studied sharpness and enlightened elaboration combine to create SRPLS FW22 – a freshly elevated exploration of clothing’s universal codes. For the season ahead, Zara’s capsule collection devoted to the intersection between fashion and function builds on its utilitarian foundation to unlock a fresh mode of worn expression. Urban toughness and urbane sleekness are evoked via the zippers, transparencies and hardware that punctuate refined, detail-driven wardrobe staples his is a collection of hero pieces.

In Womenswear soft-shouldered suiting and washed outerwear is lent definition via cinchable D-lock belts. Shirting and shirt-dresses with button fastenings that run the length of sleeve are worn over form-fitting base layers to add an extra dimension of refinement. The softness of rib-knits is tempered by grommeted hardware detailing. A luxuriously voluminous poncho features pragmatic patching details inherited from naval submariner sweaters. Rigorously tailored pants are slit and sometimes cuffed with buttons at the hems to create detail and drape. Cargo pants are deconstructed into patched skirts, or reimagined in a boldly ceremonial scarlet, while an aviator’s jumpsuit is reinvented as a uniform for navigating the modern world.

A modernized monocolor bomber is delivered in blush-tinted off-white, while the raised hem of a foreshortened parka is balanced with a dramatically sweeping faux fur-edged cowl. A kicky blush leather pant is secured by inbuilt double belting. The collections combine in a zipped patched knit top with aran detailing that is presented as a dress for women and a sweater for men for an aesthetic effect deployable in any environment.

Menswear is tough, tactical, and practical: zippers run the length of sleeves and legs to provide definition against the texture of knitwear and SRPLS’s premium fabrics. Transparency in cut out argyles and sheer layered shirting plus elaborately unorthodox button detailing all draw the eye to detailing that in turn defines the silhouette. Leather moto pants, field jackets and shirting, powerful chevron knits, snow parkas, high-waisted wide leg chinos with incorporated belting, deconstructed patched bombers and sleekly reinvented pea coats in two colors and lengths complete the SRPLS seasonal menswear deployment.

SRPLS Kidswear runs complementary to the adult collections, but without ever straying into mini-me territory. Its design priorities are comfort, practicality and robustly unpretentious cool. Broadly color-blocked to minimize decision time, casual staples are delivered in tonal fabrics with washed finishing to create softness in an overwhelmingly neutral palette. Gendered divisions are brushed aside in a collection that amplifies the overlapping fundamentals of comfortable clothing for girls and boys.
