Porsche is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first 911 Turbo with a special treat for enthusiasts: an exclusive collection of twelve different sneaker designs, each limited to 911 units per model, created in collaboration with sportswear manufacturer Puma.
Two models in this sneaker series draw inspiration from iconic Porsche vehicles, incorporating their distinctive design elements. The “Turbo No. 1” sneaker pays tribute to the legendary Porsche gifted to Louise Piëch on her 70th birthday, while the “Turbo 930” sneaker honors Dr. Ferry Porsche’s 1976 Turbo vehicle.
The “Turbo No. 1” sneaker is crafted in metallic silver, inspired by Louise Piëch’s Porsche, with the interior featuring the iconic red and blue tartan pattern reminiscent of the first 911 Turbo model. Meanwhile, the “Turbo 930” sneaker comes in Oak Green Metallic, reflecting Dr. Ferry Porsche’s 1976 Turbo, and features a green tartan pattern inside, matching the interior of the original car. The “Turbo No. 1” sneaker is made from the finest full-grain leather, while the “Turbo 930” sneaker uses nubuck leather, ensuring maximum comfort.
All versions feature dynamic vintage turbo lettering on the exterior, complemented by a subtle Porsche logo. Sneaker enthusiasts will appreciate the design of the heel, which mimics the characteristic “whale fin” of the rear spoiler and the car’s horizontal red tail lights. Additionally, the heel is adorned with a tonal Porsche Crest in 3D print, and the front lacing features a removable plaque with 50th-anniversary lettering. The motorsport-inspired Puma “Road Rider” sneaker silhouette was chosen as the base for all the models.
Additionally, Porsche is launching ten exclusive market editions, each inspired by a specific Porsche 911 Turbo car from a selected market around the world. These sneakers will be exclusively available in their respective markets, with a limited edition run of just 911 pairs each. The chosen markets—Germany, France, Poland, the Netherlands, the UK, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, the U.S., and Canada—have each selected one of thirty available exterior colors from the original Porsche color charts from 1975 to 1977 for their designs.
The 50th anniversary Porsche 911 Turbo limited sneaker editions, “Turbo No. 1” and “Turbo 930,” will be available starting August 29th, 2024, at 9:11 a.m. (CEST) for a price of 169 Euro (RRP). They can be purchased at shop.porsche.com and at the Porsche Museum Shop in Stuttgart, Germany. Each pair of limited edition sneakers will come with an additional set of black laces for a more personalized look. The sneakers will be packaged in an exclusive black Porsche Puma sports bag, featuring a zipper and adjustable shoulder strap, further emphasizing the exclusive nature of the edition.
