In the heart of Westminster, tucked away amidst the echoes of Vietnamese life, lies a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. Thach Che My Linh isn’t just a place for dessert, it’s a living tapestry woven from the threads of Vietnamese tradition and culinary artistry. Here, you’ll find more than sugar-dusted spoons and sticky fingers; you’ll find an invitation to explore the vibrant soul of Vietnamese sweets. Each bite is a journey, a brushstroke on your palate painting stories of sun-drenched rice paddies, fragrant pandan groves, and generations-old recipes passed down with love.

Take Bạch Quả Khoai Môn, for instance. This taro dream was an exquisite symphony of smooth creaminess and the nutty taste of Ginkgo nuts or Bạch Quả (in Vietnamese). Each spoonful transported me to a sun-drenched rice paddy, the earthy richness of the taro grounding me in the moment while the ethereal cream lifted me to a cloud of pure delight.

And then there was Chè Bắp Dừa Non, a playful duet of young corn and coconut milk. The tender kernels, like shy smiles peeking from silken folds of cream, burst with a sweet symphony in every bite. This seemingly simple dessert was a testament to the power of quality ingredients and masterful balance – a masterpiece in a bowl.

But the journey didn’t end there. Bánh Lọt Lá Dứa Đậu Xanh, a lyrical poem of pandan, mung bean, and silky coconut, unfolds with each spoonful, whispering secrets of Vietnamese warmth.  As I took my first bite of Bánh Lọt Lá Dứa Đậu Xanh, I was transported to a tropical paradise. The creamy coconut milk enveloped my tongue, its rich, nutty flavor melting into the sweet, earthy notes of the mung beans. The pandan leaves, like a gentle breeze, added a subtle but unmistakable sweetness, rounding out the flavors into a harmonious symphony.

The soft chatter of patrons blended with the gentle clinking of spoons, creating a soothing melody that accompanied each bite. The warm hues of the décor, infused with Vietnamese paintings, felt like a sun-kissed hug, and the smiles of the staff were as sweet as the desserts themselves.
