Just in time for the summer season and nestled deep in the Sierra Nevada mountains, Tenaya at Yosemite is launching its seasonal summer calendar of activities inspired by the great outdoors. Perfectly situated just outside Yosemite National Park and the Sierra National Forest, Tenaya is set to help guests curate their ultimate Yosemite experience. It offers a variety of modern and cozy lodging options and exclusive amenities.

Summer is the ideal time to visit as the warmer weather invites travelers to take in extraordinary surroundings through hiking, biking, a tailored Yosemite 360 vacation tour, and more.

This season’s activities at Tenaya at Yosemite include:

  • The Guided Flashlight Tour: Guests can participate in a one-hour guided night hike, where they will be led through the enchanting forests of Yosemite Valley illuminated by the vibrant starlight. The warm summer nights provide the perfect atmosphere to appreciate the park’s unique sights and sounds, creating an unforgettable evening experience.
  • Gold Panning: Inspired by the California Gold Rush, guests can try their hand at panning for minerals, gemstones, and gold, transporting them back in time to an era of excitement and discovery.
  • Archery Exploration: The Sierra Mountain archery range at Tenaya provides a safe and enjoyable opportunity for guests aged 5 and above to develop or refine their archery skills, immersing themselves in the art of the bow.
  • Cycling in the High Sierras: With its close proximity to Sierra National Forest, Tenaya offers access to breathtaking biking trails, allowing guests to rent bikes and explore the stunning sequoia trees and alpine lakes within the trail network.
  • Yosemite 360 Tours: Guests can join Tenaya for a guided tour of Yosemite National Park, celebrating the grandeur of the 1,200-square-mile protected area in the Sierra Nevada mountains. This unique experience includes visits to iconic locations such as the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias and Yosemite Valley.
  • Climbing Adventures: Adventure enthusiasts can challenge themselves by scaling Tenaya’s 18-foot climbing wall, enjoying panoramic views of the lodge and surrounding forests. For those seeking a more advanced climbing experience, Tenaya Peak offers various climbing routes, with the assistance of Tenaya’s team in arranging gear rentals and connecting guests with outfitters.
  • Horseback Riding (off property): Beginning in mid-June, guests can embark on a Western-style adventure on horseback with Yosemite Trails Horseback Adventures. Guided trail rides for 1 or 2 hours lead travelers to notable landmarks like Grizzly Giant, a 2,000-year-old redwood tree that has attracted renowned figures such as John Muir and Teddy Roosevelt.
  • Powersports Playground (off property): Yosemite Adventure Company provides thrilling off-road experiences with a range of vehicles, including Jeeps, Slingshots, Polaris RZRs, Can-Am ATVs, and family-size 4x4s. Their tours explore the expansive OHV trail system in Sierra National Forest, offering guests an adrenaline-fueled journey through Yosemite Valley’s iconic landscapes.

Nestled among majestic pines, Tenaya at Yosemite offers a distinct Sierra experience through its three guest lodging options: Tenaya Lodge, the Cottage, and the Explorer Cabins. Whether guests seek accessible sightseeing tours or immersive wilderness adventures, Tenaya at Yosemite serves as the perfect base camp for an authentic Sierra Nevada experience.
