Just when you thought Squid Game couldn’t get any bigger, it did. The global sensation wrapped its final season with an explosive wave of fanfare, transforming cities across the world into full-on game arenas. From giant playground takeovers to street parades that looked pulled straight from the show, the farewell celebration was anything but subtle.

Fans in more than 25 countries were thrown back into the chaos and thrill of the series through immersive popup experiences. These real-world games let players face off in fan-favorite challenges from the deceptively sweet Jump Rope to regionally reimagined contests inspired by the show’s twisted logic. Over the past year, more than 273,000 participants took part in these live events, with over 20,000 Pink Guards (yes, actual people in uniform) managing the madness.

Seoul took center stage on June 28 with a jaw-dropping finale event that shut down streets and drew over 38,000 fans. The massive procession marched from Gwanghwamun Square to Seoul Plaza, led by familiar faces from the show including Young-hee, Pink Guards, and even the cast themselves. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, along with Lee Jung-jae and Lee Byung-hun, joined nearly the entire cast from Seasons 1 through 3 to celebrate with fans in a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle.

If you missed the confetti and chaos in person, the numbers say it all. More than 10 million fans joined the action online. While the series may have reached its final chapter (though rumor has it a Season 4 isn’t totally off the table), the universe of Squid Game is expanding in ways that go far beyond your screen.
