Sony Pictures announces Scarlet, the latest film from Academy Award®-nominated director Mamoru Hosoda. Set to premiere exclusively in theaters, Scarlet marks another major chapter in Hosoda’s celebrated career as one of the most visionary filmmakers in modern animation.

Mamoru Hosoda, born in Toyama, Japan, has captivated audiences around the world with his emotionally resonant storytelling and breathtaking visual style. After early work with Toei Animation on projects like Digimon Adventure and One Piece, Hosoda rose to prominence with his original feature films.
