SeaWorld® Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, the region’s first Marine Life Theme Park, has officially debuted to the public, providing extraordinary adventures and unforgettable moments for visitors of all ages. The grand opening ceremony, held on May 22, featured remarkable performances by Emirati superstar Hussain Al Jassmi, Scottish recording artist Red, and a breathtaking orchestra comprising 120 musicians. This momentous event celebrated the launch of the state-of-the-art Marine Life Theme Park, captivating the audience with spectacular sound and light shows. Numerous esteemed guests and celebrities were in attendance, making the occasion even more special.
Developed by Miral in collaboration with SeaWorld® Parks & Entertainment, a renowned educational theme park and entertainment company, as well as a leading zoological organization globally, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is the newest addition to Yas Island’s impressive collection of theme parks. Commencing the festivities in the One Ocean realm, attendees were treated to an exclusive premiere of SeaWorld Abu Dhabi’s sensational production, One Epic Ocean.
This immersive show featured cutting-edge multimedia technology and spatial audio, transporting viewers into a mesmerizing underwater world through a remarkable 360-degree screen measuring 15 meters in height and 218 meters in width. As part of the opening ceremony, a group of passionate young marine enthusiasts graced the stage, presenting a captivating sound and light spectacle that showcased a swirling vortex illuminating the One Ocean globe. This symbolic representation of the profound connection between the ocean and humanity marked the official inauguration of SeaWorld Abu Dhabi and left a lasting impression on the audience. Following this mesmerizing display, attendees were treated to awe-inspiring performances by the orchestra and Red, culminating in a specially crafted song dedicated to SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, performed by Hussain Al Jassmi.
The grand finale featured a breathtaking showcase of silver three-dimensional figures resembling marine animals, gracefully gliding across the stage, enticing guests to embark on their inaugural exploration of the newly opened park.
Encompassing a vast area of 183,000 square meters across five indoor levels, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi presents a captivating narrative centered around One Ocean, seamlessly combining entertainment and education throughout eight immersive realms. Visitors of all ages can partake in unique and family-friendly experiences, including up-close animal encounters and engaging animal presentations. The park also offers a wide array of entertainment options, thrilling rides and attractions, as well as unparalleled dining and shopping experiences, ensuring a truly remarkable visit for all.
SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, the region’s premier Marine Life Theme Park, immerses guests in a variety of themed realms that transport them to diverse marine environments worldwide. At the heart of the park, the One Ocean realm captivates visitors with its immersive multimedia experiences, narrating the compelling One Ocean story. Additionally, the realm houses the Animal Care Center and serves as a gateway to the rest of the park. The Abu Dhabi Ocean realm invites guests to explore the unique marine life found in the Arabian Gulf, while Rocky Point showcases sea lions and harbor seals in a hidden cove inspired by the Pacific Northwest of the United States.
Within the Tropical Ocean realm, guests can enjoy the vibrant ambiance of a sunny rainforest and encounter dolphins, flamingos, fish, and birds in a stunning blue lagoon. The MicroOcean realm offers an interactive and educational experience where families can delve into the microscopic world as plankton, discovering the significant impact of small organisms. The awe-inspiring Endless Ocean realm features the world’s largest multi-species marine life aquarium, boasting over 68,000 marine animals and an astonishing 25 million liters of water. In the Polar Ocean realms of Arctic and Antarctica, guests can marvel at icy seascapes and learn about the unique behaviors of polar species.
SeaWorld Abu Dhabi presents an impressive array of animal encounters, with 10 up-close experiences and 100 presentations. Guests have the opportunity to learn about the distinctive characteristics and behaviors of captivating marine animals, including dolphins, sharks, and sea turtles.
Thrill-seekers will find excitement in the park’s collection of over 15 interactive rides and experiences, each offering a distinct underwater journey of discovery. From the Manta Coaster in the Tropical Ocean realm to the Hypersphere 360° in the Arctic Realm of Polar Ocean, there are exhilarating options for guests of all ages. The MicroOcean realm also offers several family-friendly rides, ensuring a memorable experience for everyone at the Marine Life Theme Park.
Entertainment abounds as guests explore SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, with over 20 live characters and performances taking place throughout the day. When hunger strikes, visitors can choose from 18 dining experiences, catering to a range of preferences, from quick snacks to fine dining options. Moreover, the park features 13 retail outlets, providing guests with the opportunity to find unique souvenirs, gifts, and merchandise to commemorate their visit.
Exciting news for SeaWorld Abu Dhabi includes its recent certification by Global Humane, the international brand of American Humane and the largest certifier of animal welfare worldwide. This distinction makes SeaWorld Abu Dhabi the first facility in the MENA region to achieve this prestigious certification.
