The global phenomenon Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba returns to the big screen this fall with the premiere of Infinity Castle, the first film in a highly anticipated three-part cinematic trilogy. Hitting IMAX® and premium large format theaters across the United States and Canada on September 12, 2025, the film is distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Directed by Haruo Sotozaki and produced by the acclaimed animation studio ufotable, Infinity Castle continues the adaptation of Koyoharu Gotoge’s best-selling manga series, originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha).
For Newcomers: What Is Demon Slayer?
First airing in 2019, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba quickly became a cultural landmark, setting new standards in animation quality and storytelling. Set in Taisho-era Japan, the series follows a kind-hearted boy named Tanjiro Kamado, whose peaceful life is shattered when his family is slaughtered by demons and his younger sister Nezuko is transformed into one of them.

Determined to restore Nezuko’s humanity, Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps, an elite group of warriors dedicated to eradicating demons. Along his journey, he teams up with memorable allies—Zenitsu Agatsuma, a cowardly swordsman with lightning speed, and Inosuke Hashibira, a wild fighter raised by boars—as they confront increasingly powerful demons under the command of the malevolent demon king, Muzan Kibutsuji.
The series’ first major film, Mugen Train (2020), shattered box office records worldwide and became the highest-grossing anime film of all time. Following the events of Mugen Train, the story expanded through the Entertainment District, Swordsmith Village, and most recently, the Hashira Training Arc, each season escalating in intensity and emotional depth.

Enter: Infinity Castle
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle picks up immediately after the Hashira Training Arc, as the Demon Slayer Corps prepares for their final confrontation with Muzan Kibutsuji.
While Tanjiro and the Hashira undergo rigorous group training, Muzan launches a surprise attack on the Corps’ leader at the Ubuyashiki Mansion. In the chaos, Tanjiro and his comrades are pulled into Muzan’s mysterious stronghold—the Infinity Castle, a shifting, labyrinthine domain at the heart of the demon realm.
With the battlefield now set deep inside enemy territory, Infinity Castle ignites the beginning of the ultimate showdown between the Demon Slayer Corps and the Twelve Kizuki, Muzan’s most powerful lieutenants.
A Cinematic Trilogy to Conclude the Saga
As the first chapter of a trilogy that will conclude the Demon Slayer anime adaptation, Infinity Castle promises breathtaking action, emotional stakes, and the signature animation excellence fans have come to expect from ufotable. Featuring iconic characters, high-stakes battles, and the looming presence of Muzan, the film sets the tone for the grand finale of one of anime’s most beloved modern epics.

For longtime fans and newcomers alike, September 12 marks the beginning of the end for Demon Slayer—a clash of humanity and darkness that will determine the fate of Tanjiro, Nezuko, and the world they fight to protect.
