Starring Outer Banks breakout Madelyn Cline, scene stealer Chase Sui Wonders, Little Women’s Jonah Hauer-King, rising star Tyriq Withers, and The Wilds’ Sarah Pidgeon, the film also sees the return of slasher legends Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Directed by Do Revenge’s Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, this R-rated revamp doesn’t hold back. Expect buckets of blood, twisted mind games, and the kind of kills that leave a stain. According to the MPAA, the flick earns its rating thanks to “bloody horror violence, language throughout, some sexual content and brief drug use.” Basically: buckle up.

The Plot:
Five friends. One fatal mistake. A pact to bury the truth. But secrets like this don’t stay buried for long. One year later, the group finds themselves hunted by a mysterious figure who definitely knows what they did and won’t stop until vengeance is served. As bodies drop, the survivors turn to two infamous figures from the Southport Massacre of 1997. Spoiler: they’re not just back for a cameo.

With a story penned by Leah McKendrick and Robinson herself, and a script sharpened by Sam Lansky (The Book of Promises) alongside Robinson, the reboot weaves old school horror DNA with a modern pulse. Produced by genre veteran Neal H. Moritz, and backed by executive producers Jackie Shenoo and Karina Rahardja, the film plays like a love letter to slashers with a serrated edge.
