A touch of vintage charm comes to Los Angeles on Saturday, October 4, 2025, when the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures presents a morning of music and film designed for families and classic cinema fans alike.

The celebration begins at 10 a.m. in the Ted Mann Theater lobby, where the acclaimed barbershop quartet #TheAccidentals will fill the space with close harmonies. Their set will feature audience favorites from The Music Man—including “Lida Rose” and “Goodnight Ladies”—alongside traditional barbershop numbers.

At 11 a.m., the festivities move to the big screen for a 35mm presentation of the beloved 1962 musical Meredith Willson’s The Music Man. The screening is part of the museum’s popular Family Matinee series, with tickets available online for $5.

This tuneful event is hosted by The Music Man Foundation, created to honor the show’s composer, Meredith Willson. Dedicated to supporting music-centered community programs, the Los Angeles–based foundation channels 100% of Willson’s licensing royalties into grants—more than $25 million awarded to 85 organizations in the last decade.
