To mark Lunar New Year, The Peninsula London invites guests to welcome the Year of the Fire Horse with an elegant blend of time honored customs, immersive experiences, and contemporary artistry. From Tuesday, February 3 through Saturday, March 3, the hotel presents a curated calendar of celebrations inspired by The Peninsula’s Asian heritage. Programming spans refined dining, traditional performances, bespoke room packages, and a striking new art installation by Chinese textile artist Lin Fanglu, presented through The Peninsula’s Art in Resonance program.

Delightful Dining at Canton Blue

From February 3 through March 3, Canton Blue, the hotel’s signature Cantonese restaurant, celebrates the season with a special Lunar New Year à la carte selection alongside a meticulously crafted six course set menu, available for lunch and dinner at £148 per person, exclusive of beverages.

The menu offers polished interpretations of auspicious dishes traditionally enjoyed during the holiday.

Starters include Lunar New Year dim sum and seasonal appetizers such as prawn dumplings with white fungus, goldfish shaped dumplings with pumpkin seafood sauce, barbecued Iberico pork, and soy sauce chicken.

Main courses range from steamed sea bass with ginger and shiitake mushrooms to deep fried lobster with salted egg sauce, stir fried Wagyu beef with wild mushrooms, and house made spinach noodles.

Dessert concludes the meal with chestnut cream and mandarin mousse, a refined finale symbolizing luck and prosperity.

A Celebration of Baijiu at Little Blue Noodle Bar

Little Blue Noodle Bar joins the festivities with a curated Lunar New Year baijiu cocktail list. Guests can pair signature dishes such as traditional Dandan noodles, hot and sour prawn noodles, and braised beef cheek noodles with six original Chinese baijiu cocktails.

Each cocktail draws inspiration from the heritage of China’s iconic spirit. Baijiu, a fragrant and powerful distilled liquor traditionally enjoyed during celebrations, is closely associated with prosperity and communal toasts. The menu features two cocktails crafted with Moutai Prince Gold, two with Bamboo Baijiu, and two with Yellow Wine. Each is named after a famous traveler, honoring the spirit of exploration and cultural exchange that has shaped China’s culinary and drinking traditions.

Discover the Art of Lin Fanglu

In The Tea Lounge, guests can experience She’s Bestowed Love II, a limited time installation by renowned textile artist Lin Fanglu of Dalian, China. The work is curated by Dr. Xiaoxin Li of the Victoria and Albert Museum’s Asia Department, in partnership with The Peninsula Hotels Art in Resonance program.

Composed of hand dyed red textiles, the installation evokes vitality, emotion, and the cyclical nature of life. Drawing on the textile traditions of the Bai communities in Yunnan province and honoring the women who have preserved these techniques across generations, the piece reflects The Peninsula’s commitment to heritage, craftsmanship, and contemporary cultural expression.

She’s Bestowed Love II will be exhibited in The Tea Lounge from February 3 through March 4, daily from noon to 2 pm and from 6 pm to 9:30 pm. Admission is complimentary for all visitors.
