Lamborghini Fenomeno Sets a New Standard in Performance and Luxury Design

At Monterey Car Week 2025, Lamborghini seized the spotlight with the debut of the Fenomeno, a few-off hypercar limited to just 29 units. This machine is not simply a supercar, it is a statement piece that pushes the brand’s design language, technical mastery, and unapologetic exclusivity to a new zenith. It arrives as a manifesto on wheels, created by Lamborghini Centro Stile to honor its twentieth anniversary while simultaneously rewriting the limits of performance.

The Fenomeno is powered by the most extreme V12 in the marque’s history, an 835 CV naturally aspirated engine paired with three electric motors that add another 245 CV. The combined 1,080 CV is delivered through Lamborghini’s monofuselage chassis, a structure built entirely of multi-technology carbon fiber with a Forged Composite front section. This hybrid powerhouse launches from zero to 100 km/h in just 2.4 seconds and hits 200 km/h in 6.7 seconds, with a top speed north of 350 km/h. The weight-to-power ratio of 1.64 kg per CV makes it the lightest, most savage Lamborghini ever.

Technical wizardry ensures that the power is not just raw but perfectly harnessed. The Fenomeno debuts Lamborghini’s 6D sensor, an innovation that reads acceleration and angular velocity across six axes, providing predictive real-time vehicle dynamics through the Integrated Vehicle Estimator. Pair this with the CCM-R Plus carbon-ceramic braking system—race-bred technology borrowed from the SC63 LMDh car—and the result is control that matches the outrageous performance.

Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini’s Chairman and CEO, frames the Fenomeno as a continuation of the lineage that began with the Reventón in 2007. That model launched a series of few-off masterpieces—the Sesto Elemento, Veneno, Centenario, Sián, and Countach. The Fenomeno now takes its place at the top of that hierarchy, with Winkelmann calling it “an extraordinary car in terms of performance, style, and disruptive representation of Lamborghini, created for customers who demand nothing less than the utmost exclusivity.”

The name Fenomeno follows tradition, inspired by a legendary bull pardoned for its extraordinary bravery in Morelia, Mexico. In both Italian and Spanish, the word means “phenomenal.”

Design as a Weapon
Mitja Borkert, Director of Design, calls the Fenomeno a “hyper-elegant spaceship,” a phrase that captures the tension between brutal power and aesthetic sophistication. The longtail proportions, razor-sharp surfaces, and purist silhouette are unmistakably Lamborghini, yet elevated with new tonality and rhythm.

Up front, the DRLs pay homage to the horns of the iconic bull in the logo, while the new Automobili Lamborghini emblem, revealed in 2024, makes its debut. The aerodynamic design is equally functional: air curtains reduce drag, an S-Duct channels flow over the roof to the rear wing, and the concave roofline drives cooling and downforce. The result is more than 30 percent greater side cooling efficiency than any previous Lamborghini V12.

From the side, the car’s profile stretches in a single line from nose to tail, a nod to the Essenza SCV12. At the rear, the Fenomeno introduces a continuous line that fuses wing, wheel arch, diffuser, and vertical Y-shaped lights into an entirely new visual signature.

The forged single-nut rims, 21 inches at the front and 22 inches at the rear, feature turbine-inspired designs wrapped in custom Bridgestone Potenza tires. Clients can opt for ultra-high-performance street tires or semi-slick, track-focused versions, both engineered to exploit every shred of the Fenomeno’s potential.

Inside the Spaceship
The cockpit embraces Lamborghini’s “Feel like a pilot” philosophy with three digital screens, a stripped-down interface, and an ergonomic driving position tuned for engagement. Carbon fiber dominates the cabin, from the center console to the custom bucket seats. Even the air vents are 3D-printed carbon pieces. Ambient lighting accentuates the spaceship vibe, while the Ad Personam program offers more than 400 exterior paint options and near-limitless interior configurations.

Mechanical Masterpiece
At the heart lies the naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12. Oversquare dimensions and a redesigned valvetrain allow it to rev to 9,500 rpm, producing 128 CV per liter—the highest figure in Lamborghini V12 history. Torque peaks at 725 Nm, 80 percent of which is available at just 3,500 rpm.

The transmission is a newly developed eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox mounted transversely behind the engine. An integrated e-motor functions as starter, generator, torque vectoring assistant, and booster. In P3 mode, the Fenomeno can even run as a full EV, delivering zero-emissions four-wheel drive while staying true to Lamborghini’s heritage of uncompromised performance.

The Final Word
The Lamborghini Fenomeno is not designed to be a car. It is designed to be a legend. Every line, every innovation, every unit of horsepower reflects an obsession with power, purity, and presence.

Stephan Winkelmann says it best: “With the Fenomeno, Lamborghini once again presents an incomparable super sports car in a limited edition. It is a true manifesto of technology and design. A phenomenon in name and nature. Born in Sant’Agata Bolognese.”
