This exciting collaboration is a key feature of the Resort’s Chef in Residence program, which extends invitations to distinguished guest chefs and vintners from across the country to showcase their culinary artistry.

The highlight of this culinary experience will undoubtedly be the special omakase dinner, scheduled for 6:00 pm HST on Saturday, September 2, 2023, followed by an engaging cooking class at 1:00 pm HST on Sunday, September 3, 2023. This unique event promises an unforgettable dining experience as it brings together Chef Phillip Frankland Lee and the talented sushi Chef Nuri Piccio of Four Seasons Resort Hualalai.

Chef Phillip Frankland Lee, a celebrated culinary artist renowned for his Michelin-starred Sushi by Scratch Restaurants and other acclaimed dining destinations, is known for his passion for innovative and playful cuisine. He continues to push the boundaries of the culinary world. Sushi by Scratch Restaurants has multiple locations throughout North America and offers an intimate setting with limited, sought-after seats right at the chef’s cutting boards. Here, guests can relax and embark on a whimsical multi-course journey that reimagines traditional sushi with inventive twists on beloved classics, incorporating flavors from both land and sea. This unique experience is a joyful celebration of new wave nigiri and other delicacies, promising unexpected interpretations of traditional sushi.

Following the culinary weekend at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, Chef Nuri Piccio will host a special omakase dinner at Scratch Sushi in Montecito, California, on Thursday, October 26, 2023, featuring the finest ingredients from Hawaii. This event will provide Californian patrons with a taste of Hawaii’s culinary treasures, crafted by a masterful hand.

Reservations for the omakase dinner and cooking class with Chef Phillip Frankland Lee and Chef Nuri Piccio are now open and can be made by contacting the Resort directly at 808-325-8000. The omakase dinner is priced at USD 400++ per person, with an additional USD 150++ per person for the sake pairing. The cooking class is available at USD 350++ per person.
