The Art of Hot Pot Brunch: A Fun & Flavorful Experience at Restaurant Fei

Restaurant Fei introduces Hot Pot as a novel brunch concept. Hot Pot, a communal and beloved serving style, allows diners to cook their own ingredients in delectable broth right at their table. Situated on the 10th floor of Clarion The Pier at Lindholmen in Gothenburg, Fei restaurant has garnered acclaim among both culinary enthusiasts and hotel patrons seeking an authentic taste of Chinese cuisine. Featuring shared dishes inspired by three of China’s eight regional cuisines, Fei boasts an esteemed Chinese chef team carefully selected for their expertise and accolades.

Previously, Fei has collaborated on brunch events with renowned chef Erik Videgård and culinary innovator Jimmy Guo, receiving high praise from guests. Now, Fei is introducing Hot Pot as a recurring brunch offering. Originating in ancient China, Hot Pot entails simmering broth served in a communal pot, where diners cook raw ingredients like meats, vegetables, and seafood to their liking.

Though variations of Hot Pot can be found across Asia, its roots trace back to the Zhou Dynasty, where it illuminated the evenings of the elite using bronze stands. During the Qing Dynasty, Hot Pot gained favor among emperors, notably the Qianlong Emperor, who indulged in it frequently. Modern Chinese Hot Pot typically incorporates approximately 67 spices for seasoning, according to Guowei Zhou, Head Chef at Restaurant Fei.

During the brunch experience, guests will enjoy authentic Hot Pot featuring two broth options: a mild vegetarian broth and a robust chicken broth. Elevating the experience, premium ingredients such as Wagyu beef and king crab will be available for cooking in the broth. The brunch event is scheduled for April 27th.
