South-facing sunny slopes, glacier skiing, a vibrant cultural center, gourmet restaurants, and luxury shopping make Crans-Montana a go-to resort for high-altitude adventures in both summer and winter alike. Opening in December, just in time for the 2022/23 winter season, Six Senses Crans-Montana will offer ski-in, ski-out access from its prime position just above the main gondola in Crans.

The 45 Terrace Rooms and one- and three-bedroom Suites have a Swiss chalet feel and are surrounded on three sides by nature and pine forest. Reinforcing the relationship between inside and outside, their light and airy style, bay windows, and private terraces provide unsurpassed views stretching across the Valais valley, from the Swiss Matterhorn on the left across the 4-Vallées range to the French Mont Blanc massif on the right. Natural materials such as quartzite stone, local larch, oak, and slate have created a feeling of warmth and comfort. Bespoke furniture completes the experience, with the solid woods and natural fabrics used throughout. The Sleep With Six Senses standard provides a cloud-comfy bed and all the fundamentals for restoring tired limbs after a hard day on the piste.

Skiing is hungry work, which is why fresh and wholesome food is central to the two restaurants and in-room dining options. The spirit of Byakko – Japan’s mythical white mountain tiger – will be brought to the table at the signature restaurant through dishes such as Hoba Miso, hot stones, sushi and fish, grilled meats, and hotpots with Japanese influences. The bar will mix exotic and daring sake blends and cocktails with aphrodisiac herbs ready for pick-me-up lunches and live music nights. The all-day dining brasserie, Wild Cabin, with panoramic views from the large open terrace, serves classic Swiss fare with a twist.

From the first lift up to the last run down: recovery is everything when making the most of time spent on the mountain. It is also essential for preventing injury and post-ski fatigue. With nine treatment rooms, an innovative Stretch Pod (fascia never felt so good), state-of-the-art fitness facilities, and a yoga studio, the 2,000-square-meter (21,500-square-foot) Six Senses Spa is a must for feeling shoop-shoop ready each day. The wet facilities include a large indoor pool leading to the outside, a second rooftop swimming pool, steam, hammam, hot tub, and cold plunge pool. The Biohack Recovery Lounge offers fast fixes that use smart tech to optimize the body’s natural healing processes, such as NormaTec compression boots, Hypervolt percussion massager, and Venom Back Wrap, which amplifies the soothing power of heat with vibration to melt away stress and tension on the lower back.

As one of the last construction projects in Switzerland for sale with no restrictions for international owners, 13 of the 17 residences can be bought as a second home. Residences range in size from 210 to 330 square meters (2,260 to 3,550 square feet) and include three- to five-bedroom apartments with two to three bathrooms and private parking places. In addition to a host of home maintenance and hospitality services, including housekeeping, security, concierge, business center, nanny, and groceries, residents can access all the amenities of the Six Senses resort.

Crans-Montana is one of the few resorts where there’s no need for a car: guests and visitors can land in Sion only 26 kilometers away or catch the two-hour train from Geneva Airport to Sierre and hop on the funicular.

Six Senses Crans-Montana operates year-round, providing a rooftop pool, sun terraces, outdoor cinema, and many opportunities to pump city kids full of fresh air. The lake in Crans has a grassy or sandy beach, pedalos, paddle boarding, water games, and beachside restaurants. The more adventurous can go paragliding or mountaineering, get on the water with wakeboarding and water skiing, or explore the mountain trails on foot or horseback. A highlight of the summer calendar is the prestigious Omega Masters Crans-Montana event. Top-level golf can also be found at the famous Severiano Ballesteros 18-hole, Jack Nicklaus 9-hole, and esteemed Crans-sur-Sierre golf club.

From sports to culture, music lovers flock to the Crans-Montana Classics concerts, with a wealth of annual programming. As a haven of peace just a few steps from numerous designer boutiques and shops, award-winning eateries, and entertainment, this resort has a real sense of Carpe Diem.

To arrive, Six Senses Crans-Montana is 2 hours by car or train from Geneva.
