With the arrival of STARLUX Airlines’ A350-900 in late October, there has been much anticipation regarding the revelation of the new interiors. STARLUX is the first airline in Taiwan to offer First Class in addition to the ubiquitous Business and Economy Class cabins. The A350-900 is the first aircraft in the Asia-Pacific region to integrate the most recent innovations in cabin design. Over 70% of the airframe is made from advanced materials, making the cabin wider by 4 inches and longer by 35 inches. Cabin air is renewed every two to three minutes, and cabin altitude has been adjusted to 6,000 feet to reduce passenger fatigue. The windows have also been upgraded to electrical dimmable windows, blocking 99.99% of visible light and switching twice the speed of the previous generation.

STARLUX’s A350-900 is configured in a premium four-class layout, with four seats in First Class, 26 in Business Class, 36 in Premium Economy Class, and 240 in Economy Class. The First Class and Business Class are designed around the theme of “Enchanting Sophistication,” with warm woven fabrics and luxurious textures, embellished with a royal rose golden color. First Class is constructed behind a 60-inch high partition, granting passengers a personal suite on the aircraft. Business Class is constructed with a 48.5-inch partition, creating more private space for passengers to relax in as well. Premium Economy Class and Economy Class are designed around a separate theme – Relaxed Elegance.

The inflight entertainment system has also been upgraded. First Class seats are equipped with a 32-inch 4K screen, while Business Class has a 24-inch screen. Even Premium Economy and Economy Class passengers can enjoy 4K resolution on a 15.6-inch screen or a 13-inch screen, respectively. Passengers in any class cabin on the A350-900 can use Bluetooth to connect to their own headphones.

With the delivery of the new A350-900 and a new A321neo – B58211, the STARLUX fleet has now entered a new phase. STARLUX currently has eleven A321neos, four A330neos, and one A350-900. Delivery of an additional A350-900 is scheduled by the end of the year, which will increase the capacity for STARLUX as the company prepares to begin service to markets outside of Asia.
