Olive enthusiasts have reason to celebrate as they eagerly await the second annual Al Jabal Al Akhdar Olive Harvest Festival, scheduled for this coming September. Building upon the success of last year’s inaugural event, Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort is once again presenting this festive occasion in partnership with local olive farmers and olive oil producers. Nestled in the lush and fertile region of Al Jabal Al Akhdar, also known as the Green Mountain, this area in Oman has garnered a reputation for its bounty of roses, pomegranates, apricots, and, more recently, olives.
About a decade ago, inspired by the region’s fertile landscape, local farmers made the decision to plant olive trees. Their efforts were rewarded the following year with a bountiful harvest, and ever since, the olive trees have consistently yielded a fruitful crop year after year.
From September 21-23, 2023, the Olive Harvest Festival will unfold at Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort, treating guests to a delightful lineup of daily events centered around the beloved olive. Attendees of all ages can immerse themselves in a diverse program that includes cooking demonstrations and captivating storytelling sessions led by a Local Guru. Families can also partake in the olive harvesting process, a rewarding activity that brings everyone together. Throughout the month of September, officially recognized as harvest season, Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar will showcase the region’s olives and olive oil in a range of special dishes at Bella Vista, their contemporary Mediterranean restaurant situated on the edge of the magnificent canyon.
