Guiding this transformation project is Atelier Pod, a globally acclaimed architecture and interior design studio. Their visionary concept centers around infusing a wooden cabin aesthetic, utilizing locally-sourced materials. The overarching vision seeks to create an environment that exudes purity, simplicity, and a dash of adventure, characterized by futuristic shapes and sleek lines.

Inside the villas, the living spaces have undergone a revitalization, exuding a fresh yet refined ambiance. Accent pieces from the local Thuladoo island, smart technology, and additional home comforts have been thoughtfully integrated. All-new furniture, fittings, and materials have been meticulously chosen to resonate with the indigenous culture’s aesthetic and sustainable ethos.

The 2,874 square feet hideaways, prioritizing comfort and convenience, retain their king-size beds and walk-in dressing rooms. However, the overall interior design imparts an airier ambiance, courtesy of lighter-hued wood. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors invite the outside world in, offering guests a daily awakening to the blissful spectacle of ocean views stretching to the horizon. And when it comes to unparalleled vistas, few experiences can rival the mesmerizing sight of fish gliding beneath you as you luxuriate in a glass-bottomed soaking bathtub.

While the capacious interiors of Anantara’s newly redesigned Over Water Pool Villas provide sanctuaries of luxury and style, it is on the reimagined sundecks that the Maldives experience truly steals one’s breath away. The expanded deck boasts a novel circular seating arrangement that forms a captivating focal point, perfect for leisurely lounging and dining as morning gracefully transitions into dreamy afternoons. Inspiration for the design is drawn from elements found on the rear of yachts, artfully translated here into several seating areas that gradually approach the water’s surface. The deck’s hammocks have been extended, offering increased comfort and even more opportunities for capturing the unique beauty of the Maldives. These features aim to deepen the connection with the water, introducing exciting new lagoon experiences for guests to savor and enjoy.
