Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Vacation Club have announced their proposed plans to introduce updated cabin hideaways at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. These new cabins will provide guests with a secluded and peaceful haven in the midst of nature, while still enjoying the modern conveniences of home.

The proposed plans include the construction of over 350 new cabins spanning across 750 acres of scenic woodlands. These new cabins will replace the current ones, which have been enjoyed by guests for years and are now in need of refreshing. The updated cabins will also feature environmentally friendly design, utilizing the existing cabin space and incorporating energy-efficient elements.

Taking inspiration from the resort’s picturesque surroundings and rich culture, the new cabins will offer a contemporary take on the current cabin experience. Each stand-alone cabin can accommodate up to six adults and boasts spacious accommodations including a bedroom, bathroom, living room, full kitchen, and private patio. Some cabins will even be designated as pet-friendly.

A collection of improvement projects, including the introduction of new cabins, are currently underway at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground to enhance the guest experience. Proposed plans also include upgrades to the pool and walking trail, as well as expanded dining experiences at Trail’s End Restaurant and Crockett’s Tavern, with more news to come.

Situated in the heart of Walt Disney World and just a boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom Park, Members and guests will have convenient access to the theme parks and the resort’s beloved amenities, such as horseback riding at the recently updated Tri-Circle-D Ranch, fishing, walking trails, pools, playgrounds, Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long, and dining and entertainment at Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. Campsites will continue to be available for guests.

The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, which will be a Disney Vacation Club Resort, is expected to open in 2024, becoming the 17th Disney Vacation Club resort. More details about the project, including sales and rental bookings, will be shared at a later date.
