The Los Angeles Zoo springs to life during the summer evenings, starting from Friday, July 7. It’s an event called Zoo Friday Nights Presented by L.A. Care, and it’s perfect for all ages. Visitors can delve into the fascinating world of their favorite animals as they uncover their twilight adventures. Families are free to explore the entire zoo until 8 p.m. and enjoy a range of entertainment options. Picture this: there’s music in the air, a Family Dance Party brought to you by GEC Entertainment, engaging games, interactive education stations, and much more. For those who are 21 and over, there are full bars available, and if you’re feeling hungry, you can indulge in delicious food truck fare. Don’t forget to take a spin on the carousel, which is available for an additional fee.

Each evening promises a unique experience, with a different band taking the stage, accompanied by the talented DJ Johnny Hawkes. Prepare to be captivated by his genre-blending mashups from various decades. Kicking off the series is the spirited Masanga Marimba Ensemble, a nine-member group that will be performing vibrant traditional and popular music from Africa and Latin America. As the series progresses, you can look forward to performances by the all-female sensation Pulp Vixen, ’80s cover bands Flashback Heart Attack and Pop Gun Rerun, and the energetic rhythms of the Reggae, Soca, and Caribbean band Upstream, among others.

As July 21 arrives, The All the Vibes Band will grace the audience with their music, accompanied by DJ Johnny Hawkes. Food truck choices for the night include Baby’s Badass Burgers, Cousin’s Maine Lobster, Burnt to a Crisp Texas Smokehouse, Kona Ice, Border Grill, and Rice Balls of Fire.

On July 28, prepare for an exciting performance by Flashback Heart Attack, accompanied by DJ Johnny Hawkes. Food trucks available that evening are Baby’s Badass Burgers, Cousin’s Maine Lobster, Burnt to a Crisp Texas Smokehouse, After’s Ice Cream, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, and Jay’z Tacos.

August 4 brings Pop Gun Rerun to the stage, with DJ Johnny Hawkes keeping the party going. Food truck options for the night include Baby’s Badass Burgers, Cousin’s Maine Lobster, Burnt to a Crisp Texas Smokehouse, Kona Ice, and Border Grill.

As August 11 arrives, Upstream will serenade the audience with their Reggae, Soca, and Caribbean tunes, while DJ Johnny Hawkes provides the beats. The series concludes on August 18 with Shades of Blue taking the stage, accompanied by DJ Johnny Hawkes. Food truck options for the evening include Baby’s Badass Burgers, Cousin’s Maine Lobster, Burnt to a Crisp Texas Smokehouse, Kona Ice, and Jay’z Tacos.The seven-week series, which lasts until Friday, August 18, takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission prices are $25 per adult (18+), $20 per child (2-17), and $15 for GLAZA members.
